Spoke to the lady who organizes food at the club last night.

Whilst we can't match the superb food boxes laid on at Wye Valley we can offer a Baguette and Chips for £4.

Could you let me know if this will be of interest as she doesn't normally work Sunday's but will lay it on if there are enough takers.

Thanks in advance

Gareth

Hi Gareth

It might be handy to have some food available, as I doubt there'll be any spare time to speak of to pop out to have a spot of lunch.

Cheers
Dave

Indeed there is a local Sainsbury a five walk away but that would be cold food.

The lady who provides the food at the club is willing to come and sort it but only if we get enough people interested so far we don't have enough interest

Let me know - thanks

Hi All

FOOD;
Unfortunately due to the low number of requests for food on the day we are unable to offer food at the club. Tea/Coffee and drinks will be available at the bar. There is a Sainsbury a short walk from the club for those that want to buy on the day.

ENTRIES;
Unfortunately some of the Wolves guys have had to drop out from the event. I have removed Malcolm from the list, but i can't remember the others names - can you let me know.

This brings us down to the 40 level, which is fine, but it does mean that if you wish to come along we have capacity for three new entries - please let me know.

TRACKS;
Those of you who came to Brooklands will have had the opportunity to try out two of the stages (logo and new SCX track). Steve Baker has also made a new stage from 50's Classic RUBBER Scalextric track! so this should be fun. I'm hoping to have the old car park stage up and running for the event also (cast your minds back to the original NSCC SlotRallyGB event at Toyota - Painted MDF CNC routed cooper tape - lots of tail out action. The Farnham Club track will be used for two stages and the rest will come from Wye valley and a mixture of SCX/Ninco/Scalextric tracks made the day before.

PARKING/SIGNING IN;
Our club is in the Farnham Conservative club so all guest will need to sign in. I will pre-prepare a sheet with known names - simple sign in as my guest for the event. There is parking at the venue, i will give you a parking notice to place inside your car when you arrive. Overflow parking will be at my office about 5mins walk away. NOTE teh entrance into IVY LANE is very very very tight take a wide swing when you enter from DOWNING STREET. Please park at the back of the car park - non slot members will still be using the club on the Sunday and we should leave them spaces. Please arrive on time 0900 - racing will start 0930 PROMPT.

I think that's it for the moment, let me know if you have any questions.

Postcode for the club is; Ivy Lane, Farnham, Surrey GU9 7PQ

google maps

Farnham town centre has a relatively complex one way system, most of you will enter Farnham from the M3, A331, A31 and then follow directions from the Shepard and Flock roundabout, you will drive up Downing Street IVY LANE is on your right between a white building and a gentlemens clothes shop if you miss it just continue up downing street turn right into West Street right again into south street and right again into Union road - take a look at the map before you leave!

Hi Gareth.
I will speak to Malcolm this Friday and find out which other Wolves guys can't make it. On your heading list, there is myself...still coming down, Simon James, and Ian James (no relation) as Wolves entries, not sure if Malcolm was also going to bring 'Pocket Rocket'.. Lewis Gough, with him as well.
I will contact you at the weekend with an update.
cheers Bill.

OK the entry list has now been updated (see first post).

We have 42 entries to date - some of the Wolves guys who could not make it were not on the list originally so numbers are still good - we are officially full, but can accept one or two entries because a couple of the Farnham guys (including me) will run our stages the night before to allow us to get the scoring done quicker on the day!

If anyone is planning to run some of the more recent slot rally car releases (like the Avant Alpine A310) please get in touch to check which class they will be in. For example the Alpine will go in the mod class along with the other Avant cars.

Evening folks

Just booked my car on the ferry, so I'd better sort accommodation out now: I seem to recall a recommendation somewhere earlier in the thread.

All being well I should arrive in Liverpool around 10:30 a.m. on the Saturday and reach the Farnham area around 4 p.m. on Saturday, as it's about a 4 hour drive from Liverpool, plus allowing for at least one stop for lunch etc on the way down.

Looking forward to it, but must dig out the cars and make sure they're still running!

Cheers
Dave

Top Man Dave

Let me know if you need some help with a local hotel/B&B etc, several to chose from in the area, budget depending.

I'm hoping we will be finished setting up at a resonable hour on Saturday to allow for some form of dinner/curry/BBQ etc.

Gareth
