Here's the latest configuration of our Ninco track

As well as meeting every Tuesday evening we are holding an Open Day on Sunday February 7th, 1000-1600 at

Church Cottage
Silverless Street
Marlborough
SN8 1JQ

All welcome, free entry.

We will be running our cars all day, or bring your own!

The meeting is for people to enjoy running on our track and to gather increased membership for the Tuesday sessions and perhaps extend the weekend meetings to a regular session.

Hope to see you there!

We're focusing on the Ninco unless we manage to persuade the dancers to swap rooms with us :-)

Rob, just tell em we need the bigger hall for 'the strip', they'll want to come in as well!!!

Would be good if the strip was running, I'd be down for the day.

Cheers

You Dirty Dog you...

As Rob says, there's simply not room that day as we've got to have the small room due to the dancers. Even if the main hall were free though. it's still not really big enough. Unfortunate but true.

I do plan to run 3-4 rounds of drag racing (somewhere) for the FLBT this year. I think I might use the UK Nationals rules, which reminds me, I'd better go and edit them (again) and get them back to you...

A big thank you to all who attended today, a total of 22 racers competed and time was found to run three classes. Everybody seemed to be having a great time and slot cars were run for over five and a half hours solid.

First up was Impact Resisting Scalextric cars with the entry consisting of juniors, people who walked in off the street and the odd ringer. Everyone did really well with most scoring between 13 and 19 laps in two mins. The totals from two heats each decided lane choice for the four finals.

In the D final Louis scored a personal best for the day at just the right time to edge out Alfie, a first ever step up final win for the second generation of the Townsend slot racing dynasty.

The C final was a high scoring affair with Darryl taking second from Marcus who had been quick all morning but both were well beaten by William with a score that would have won the A final!

B final saw an amazing dead heat for second between mother and son Marie and Evan Webster. Evan finishing top junior. Both were trounced by Julia who duly stepped up to the A final where she finished an impressive third just edging out the consistent Tony. Steve was the first member of his family not to win his first final but second overall was pretty good. Marc came through against all the odds to take the win in his Fiat.

Public Cars Open Race
1 Marc Townsend
2 Steve
3 Julia
4 Tony
5=Marie Webster
5=Evan Webster
7 William
8 Darryl
9 Marcus Lover
10Louis Townsend
11Alfie
12Matthew
13Martin
14Henry
15Andrew
16Florence

Next up the regulars joined in as Marcus and Neil stayed on. Box standard Scalextric Nascars were used and the racing was pretty fierce. A proper four heats and step up finals affair, here are the results.

1 Robin Clark
2 Marc Townsend
3 Graham Mattingly
4 Rob Lees
5 Kevin Gee
6 Karl Bryant
7 Clive Harland
8 Andy Wharton
9 Neil Lover
10Marcus Lover

Next up we had one min solo qualiifying with the public cars, finals decided using those times and then all kinds of machinery was brought out for open practice.

Pictures to follow.
