Personally I think they're good cars, but there does seem to be a very fine line between what makes one good and what makes one toilet. I think the biggest factor is getting the tyres right.
Getting the tyres sorted seems to be a problem that rears it's ugly head in all the classes we run. Several people (I won't name and shame them)didn't even know what type of tyre they were running last week when I asked them!
I do get frustrated when I've told people many times what they need to do to make their cars competitive and they then go and glue any old tyre they've found under the sofa to the wheels and then look shocked when the car's poo and then claim the class is pants and don't bother turning up for it anymore.
Sorry about that rant but it needs to be said grump.gif

Well to me it seems that a lot of people dont even true their flipin tyres? How many people other than myself really ask you/phil to do our tyres for us as in true them? very little i presume.

Its not just the tyres tho , the way people approach the corners does not change, people (not naming anyone) seem to just drive every car the same, for example nascar! you can tell the people who remember that there is a magnet in the bleeding thing and can actually accelerate a lot earlier through the corners.

Maybe we should make use of this forum a mandatory part of club membership!
I think it's the same whichever club you belong to, you'll always get a handfull of keen interested members, the rest are just there for something else, although I haven't worked out what that is yet.

Now that's a good idea, I joined Slotforum 28-January 04 and have been trying to get the Mr P to join ever since lol, it's only been 6 years of nagging! still no sign!

Back to the subject of classic's I've had trouble with said grip although the car I did for Lee is spot on, I must have a duff batch of tyres or something. I like this class, looking forward to the Chaparral 2E (without the wing for racing).

See you tonight people!

Phil

Now, if you were to allow the NSR 917K's, I could be tempted to tear myself away from Juventus v Fulham !!!! This cup run is awesome, I never knew Europe could be so interesting.
The NSR 20 or 22k are very evenly matched to the slot.it 21k's, go on, make a more interesting field !

No read the name of the class... It's slot it classic, motors tyres etc all slot it and to be honest I think adding to the available things will only make the problem bigger

I think the only way round the setting up of car issue is to have a handout class, so all cars are built by the same person and driven by all the drivers, then it is just down to the individual driving style. I think in all clubs you have people who spend lots of time and money buying tyre truers etc etc etc to make their cars go well, and then those who chuck their cars together with 5 mins to go, and every variance in between - it's just human nature !

When we use the club cars there is still a huge difference in the top and bottom people lol (the crash and burn is meant to do this too) but we still see huge differences lol
