why not vote on it as a club..a simple question and a show of hands would suffice.
I think it would attract more people .. so my vote would be yes. Peter -------------------- ![]() 170 FT of 6 lane NINCO on your doorstep! 5 minutes from Hampton Court - West Molesey, Surrey KT8 2LG |

If you keep the standard theme the motor in the Slot.it is quicker anyway.
Will the NSR make up time through the twisty stuff |

Why are we wanting to do this !? There is nothing at all wrong with the slot it ones the people saying oh I only want to come if we have nsr ones as far as I am concerned is minimal . The new people I.e. Richard etc will be happy enough to get a SLOT IT classic which means an extra 2 people possibly , others that don't come down like bill , you really think he is not coming because he would rather be running nsr cars ? Like hell he is, we cannot keep messing around with classes to suit one or two people. If the nsr cars end up being the fastest cars then we are going to all then have to spend money and time then setting up yet another car just to keep on the pace . Forget this idea for god sake the rules are the rules people are always moaning about them the slot it's go fine . You can't get yours going well deal with it .

As far as I know nobodys moaning about the slot.it cars. The general concensus is that allowing nsr cars would simply allow a greater choice of models and a more diverse looking grid.
The nsr cars are no quicker in standard trim, even with air hubs and ultra grips my 917k was several 10ths slower than my Slot.it Alfa. So on that evidence I really can't see what the big deal is! I'm so proud of Molesey Scalextric Club right now. -------------------- ![]() |

Hi Its Richard
I can confirm that I would be more than happy to get a Slot-it classic, and George has been TOLD, he'll be happy to get one too. I can also confirm, (as a new member) that having a set class/classes that you can just buy off the shelf and run would make it a little less daunting when joining i.e. Slot-it classic, nascar and even the club cars (which were great! In my opinion). These teach you the fundamentels of a good car, true tyres lowering the C of G, but without the added expence of axels, gears motors and so on. I also think that the first race you take part in (as a new member) is the most difficult and having a couple of set class like slot-it classic give the newbies some confidence that they will be able to get there cars to run almost as good as the seasoned pros in a fairly short space of time. Also as these cars are more of less the same speed ( on the straights) the newbies will be able to get a better understanding of how to drive them through the coners by trying to follow and copy the faster cornering cars and driving styles. Just to sum up; a few set classes are good, at around £70-80 for slot-it classic and nascar it won't break the bank. Adding variables (other makes of cars) to the classes just adds to the confusion The cars should run on the factory rubber, but rears can be trued and the fronts can be reduced improve the handling. Thanks for the different angle Richard, I think sometimes the more experienced members do lose sight of how daunting it must be as a new member racing for the first time. When I first put car to track all there was, was standard cars so things were a lot simpler.
I agree, standard classes are very important however you can never really stick to the standard spec. 100% as things like standard tyres simply don't work on our track, but with minimal changes the more standard cars usually produce the best races. Hopefully for the second half of the year we'll be introducing slot.it group c's as a new class which will maintain a very standard spec. Personally I couldn't care less if nsr cars are added to the classic class or not, but I know there are quite a few people who would like to run them. -------------------- ![]() |

Hi Julian, all
I agree that the factory rubber should change (I know that’s not what I said in my previous post, and I'll try to explain here NSR cars I really don't have enough knowledge on the type of cars that should or shouldn't be used, but like the fact that one make takes the confusion out for the newbie's and gets people racing. Also if the cars performance differs to a large degree people will naturally gravitate to the faster make of car, and effectively making it one make for the class. I just like the idea that I can get a car of the shelf from slot-it, stick it on the track and be competitive. If we could narrow down the tyre choice so much the better. At the moment the tyre choice is only slot it tyres with p4's being probably the most popular option

I did read the rules on this class (honest Sorry for being a muppet Rich Not a muppet at all Rich, it is very confusing when you first start as you can ask a number of people the same question and come up with a few different answers! you still get some established members grabbing your label of your P4s to right down the correct part number so they can order them. Welcome to the Forum by the way, good to have new blood to join in the banter. If you need more help I'm only to pleased too.
