£29.95 less 10% for Slotforum membership makes £27 plus postage or £27 if you happen to know a friendly moderator going to a SIC round at the weekend who can collect it from Nic or Sean.

Performance - can be made to go quiet well. In terms of the Slot.it challenge nobody uses them. McLaren, Audi, Jaguar are the vast majority with the Nissan or two thrown in.

Hey all,

Started looking at my Sauber tonight as an easier car to get going before I start work on the C65. What would people reccomend for the rear wheels/ tyres size wise on the Sauber? I have a spare set of F1 NSR wheels and ultragrips that I'm tempted to put on for that extra bit of rubber on the track...or a set of NSR wheels with 19.5 x 12 ultragrips.

Interested to know which set up people would go with or something completely different?

Hi Lee, I'll bring mine on thursday and let you see what I've done. F1 hubs & tyres are slightly too wide: it is a short can inline as standard, I've tried anglewinder & long can inline.... currently 20k long can inline, 9/27 gears on approx 20/11 rubber.....so your NSR wheels with 19.5 x 12 ultragrips will work...what alloys are they on...nsr 5002 are desirable as they are the smallest but the rubber will over hang the edge of the alloy....cornoring!!!!!!
It will not be as fast as Jims courage in a straight line but has the chance to be more 'agile' and with truespeed tweeking will give it a run for its money. I also have an nsr mosler you may want to look at...Peter.

Cheers Pete....great advice.

I'm just at a good stage with this, as basicaly haven't touched it yet apart from stripping it down and straightening the chassis. I think the NSR wheels are 5004, so I'll get a set of 5002's ordered.

Will have a look at yours tonight....and I'm sure we'll have a chat about the truspeed set up (there's a lot of nobs on there!!!!)

Q: What causes most Slot Car crashes?

A: The knob on the controller!

That joke was in 1/32 scale so it is 1/32 as funny as the original:
Q: What causes most crashes in motorsport?
A: The nut holding the wheel!

Hey lee, any comments on the C9, or as a comparison to the orange mosler you ran in practise and then again against the green one you used in the race???????????

Hi Pete...back from sunny Devon now smile.gif

Firstly, getting used to the new controller made it hard to really get a feel for the cars. I was loosing huge chucks of time across the start line upto the esses and up the hill into the right handed...just couldn't quite get the confidence to floor it and get onto the brakes quick enough. It's those short sharp straights I need to get the hang of wacko.gif

For the cars...if you go by lap times then I guess the green mosler was the most comfortable to drive as it gave me a new overall laps and time PB in sports (only 2 bits off a 29 lapper...how annoying!!!), but that was probably down to getting better with the controller towards the end of the night. The C9 was really smooth (hope I can get mine like that!!!) and I would probably say easier to get the hang of...sorry for ramming it into your hand sad.gif But in the long run I can see that the moslers would give better times....although these Radicals seem to have some speed as well now smile.gif Cheers very much for letting me have a run with the cars....very inspiring to get mine to that level (maybe one day question.gif )

I've tried straightening the chassis on my C9 but it's not worked 100%, so I'll have to give it another go.
