Trying to keep this thread alive .........
I decided to change the chassis of my Scaley Focus (doubts about this front wheel drive business I suppose) for an SCX one. Well, first off it just fits - the wheelbase is fine, and you only need to trim sides and rear thus leaving only three screws to worry about.

The front was no problem - two pieces of plastic tube superglued and bicarbed. For the rear I had to shape a small piece of carbon fibre to provide a platform for the screw mount to sit on (it also served to fix the struts of the rear spoiler) and then the same idea with the plastic tube.

Great photos Lytle! That last one looks real!
LOVE that Ken Block Focus. Must have been tricky to do? Looks perfect though -------------------- "And so you touch this limit, something happens and you suddenly can go a little bit further. Thanx, the Citroen was actually a little trickier as the decals didn't fit as well.
Working on a Block Fiesta right now, I'll post a pic when done. Also did these recently; SCX pro chassis on these dudes (maybe SCX will get the hint?) |

The Flyslot Punto S 2000 is a really nice car, but whereas the original car has 4wd, the 1:32 one only has rear wheel drive.
So I converted mine to 4wd, using two pulleys, a drive belt, an axle and a crown gear from a Spirit Peugeot 205. ![]() The conversion was easy to do, I only had to remove a bit of plastic at the bottom of the chassis and at the right body mount. I didn´t add front bearings, but I´m optimistic that the stock front axle mounting will be up to the task, because the plastic of the chassis is quite hard, and there isn´t much stress from the drive belt. |

Nice work! I have converted several cars in this manor and it seems to work well. The Ninco belt drive cars do not use bushings on the front axle either. I see you have used the Spirit motor as well, they are quite potent!
