Twas only a joke biggrin.gif . I`m sure it`ll be OK Ryan, afterall it`s your track you build how you want thumbsup.gif
As you say it`s a rally track and us rally drivers will cope. Are you having a rail crossing? I seem to remember there used to be (or is there still) a narrow gauge at Groudle Glen?

Cheers - Phil cat.gif

Hi Guys,
tonights racing (29th March 2012) classes are below:

RTR HPI Nissan Skylines +
Sportscar Race (No NSR's) as per last years sportscar rules, ie. standard cars with Ltd. Mod changes allowed, but no NSR cars allowed. We are allowing Slot.it cars as long as they are to the same rules.

Hope to see you later.
Steve

P.S. Hi Phil, yes, there is still a narrow gauge railway at Groudle Glen.

Hi Phil,

I think I will try and put a railway in somewhere! To be honest I have never done scenary before so it may just be a few polystyrene blocks painted and some trees!

Furthermore I have done away with the up section of the bridge and created a gradual rise up over two straights as it was too hard to get a rally car up consistently. The drop at the other side remains and is still fairly tricky but nothing like trying to get up the hill was. A combined clean lap time (ie one inner and one outer circuit) takes approx 14 seconds going at a reasonable pace.

cheers

Ryan

Looking forward to seeing more pics, It`s suprising how a track "comes alive" after slapping a bit of paint on, our Camel track looked rubbish until we stippled a bit of sawdust and green paint on it, a few bushes or trees really sort it out.

Cheers - Phil cat.gif

OK Here is the weekends progress. Still a bit more painting to do and a few bits of tidying up and adding more scenery to go but I am getting there. The course is pretty good fun even my good lady had me timing her with a stopwatch whilst she tried to beat her PB. Another addict in the making??? ohmy.gif

Progress will now be halted until a week Thursday as I travel to Wales for Easter weekend on Thursday afternoon, with a Whisky master class at Penderyn Welsh Whisky booked for Saturday! biggrin.gif

Well done Ryan, that's looking great. There has obviously been a lot of work going on there. The drop off still looks scary but at least it's only slot cars and not mountain bikes! wink.gif
I've not seen your wife's name on the Manx SlotRally entry list yet, and to be honest, from what you tell us, I'm quite pleased! It sounds like she would wipe the floor with us all with her fast stage time! unsure.gif

Well here is your second Rally Track Teaser for the Manx Slot Rally!

Chris A's (Spangy46) "Tholt-Y-Wil" hill climb stage in its various parts.

This one looks very steep in the middle section ohmy.gif

Here you are Martyn you can copy Adrian Kermode`s notes.

It`ll be fun running downhill, hopefully we won`t have the mickey mouse chicanes at the cattle grid on the vid biggrin.gif

Cheers - Phil cat.gif

Brill vid Phil, thanks.

First video I have seen of the stage and I think I have almost got it right, especially hairpins.

Just as well I am only doing a section of Tholt-Y-Will otherwise the track would be half way up the Cronk-y-voddey straight!
Oh and no cattle grids although you now have me thinking..........

If we reverse this one it will be fun going up the right hand side of the track, especially second hairpin!

I hope you are looking forward to the track as much as I am as it will be first time I have driven it in it's entirity as my flat is not 25' long!

Hi guys

Sorry, but I can't make it tonight. Didn't sleep much and am cream-crackered.

See you all next week.

Cheers
Dave

Hi Ryan

If you want to replace the 3.5 straight with a squiggly bit, I have brand new SCX standard curves you can use to make it a bit more fun....

Painted all the track boards and borders on mine now, so starting to take shape.

I cannot get the hairpin section in the car so it's going on the roof rack for this Thursday's Slot Rally!
