Our intrepid SlotForum reporter has arrived in Nürnberg and is getting acclimatised to the scene and testing local preferred beverage in preparation for a busy day tomorrow.

We have fixed a series of meetings with the manufacturers who have stands at the show, and will report back anything of interest.

Please feel free to post a couple questions here if you have something specific to ask.

Reports to follow.

Check back here as we'll link to them from this post and topic, updating it as more information comes in.

Ask the new owners of MRRC whether the tooling for the Cheetah actually exists yet.

Ask Hornby why the W8200 sidewinder pinion gears have been unavailable as spare parts for the better part of a year while they keep producing cars with them. Somewhere at the factory in China there has to be a barrel of them so why none as spares?

Questions: all not necessarily about 2011, more about philosophy of where the brands plan to concentrate, where they might perceive opportunities.

SCX: any plans for expanding historic 4WD Group B rally cars? e.g. Peugeot 205 in many versions, Proper RX-81/91 4WD version of of Ford RS500, ditto for Audi Quattro in its many versions, Metro 6R4, Mazda RX-7 4x4
SCX: any plans for expanding historic 4WD Group A rally cars to go with Delta Integrale and Ford Escort Cosworth? Again with proper4wd RX- 81/91. Or re-releasing with newer chassis the old style Group A already made e.g. Toyota Corolla, Toyota Celica, Celica GT-Four, early Subaru, Early Mitsubishi Lancer,
SCX: Any plans to expand Group A Touring cars of late 1980's etc. Already make/made Ford Sierra Cosworth RS500, BMW M3 (see All question below)
SCX: any plans to resurrect old F1 class beyond McLaren Senna "Vintage" release?

Ninco: any plans for expanding the classics 1950/60 roadsters range (to go with Jaguar XK120, Austin Healey etc.) or is this range relegated to repaints/"Vintage" releases due to relative lack of sales volumes?
Ninco: any plans for expanding their old 1990's GT1 selection of cars (see question to Slot.it below re same era)

Slot.it: any plans for more Group C cars (indeed are there any new C1 class bodies left to model?). More plans for repaints in Group C (Porsche FAT turbo Le Mans winner for example)?
Slot.it: any plans to expand 1995-98 GT1 class offerings beyond McLaren F1 GTRand Nissan R390 GT1 (and Ferrari F40): Venturi 600LM, Porsche 911 GT1, Mercedes CLK GT1, Jaguar XJ220, Lamborghini, Calloway Corvette, Lotus elise GT1 maybe even some of lower class cars

FlySlot: Any plans to expand upon or re-release the 1960/70's Le Mans prototypes (Porsche 917, Lola T70, etc.) or do they no longer have the tooling after the many company changes?
FlySlot: any more classic Formula One cars to go with their Williams and March era cars?
Flyslot: any chance their website will be completed soon? when? Will it have a reference page/s of the cars made by various precursor companies?

All: why no plans to produce cars based on Group A Touring car championships of the late 1980's early 1990, Spirit seem to have been only entrant with BMW 635csi: e.g. Ford Sierra Cosworth RS500, BMW M3, Volvo 240Turbo and later estate, Alfa 75, Jaguar XJS, Holden Commodore, Ford Mustang, Rover SD1, Mercedes 190E 2.3-16, Maserati BiTurbo, Nisaan Skyline "Godzilla", Nissan Skyline GT-R R32, Toyota Celica Supra

Revell/Monogram, Carrera, Scalextric: Do they have any plans to make chassis/guide combination that allow cars to function without magnets as do their competitors (Ninco, Slot.it, SCX, Flyslot)? Wonderful models, chassis....

Carrera: have they actually seen any increase in sales from the Ferrari license? or is it merely trading dollars from other models they had in the range?

Well that's all I could dash off of the top of my head

Have fun Doug!

Stephen

If possible could someone inquire about HPI plans, are they going to do the Datsun 240Z that was announced before.

In the same Japanese vain, what are Kyosho's plans and a photo of Kyosho's 1/43 chassis would be great. If some could ask if there is a marketing relation between the rc dnanos
and their new line 1/43 slot cars (other than having the same scale and hence being able to use the same bodies) it would be great. Do they expect sloters to try the dnanos?
