Leo,
The van is an Austin K8, produced by Oxford diecasts. I don't know what you'll be able to get in 1:32 but I have the metal sidetrim ( my brother initially bought some stuff that was too big but will be ideal for your scale). I will keep a lookout on the web for suitable scale vans for you.

Well, with the children at their grandparents for a few days and not starting back at work until tomorrow, I've had a few hours to finish off the church steps. A few photo's below of how I did them

Using Wills corrugated box section to form the basis of the steps, I cut out and glued it between the track

Using plasticard underneath to strengthen

Then primered

Then painted in Humbrol 121 (light stone) and the indentations in the box corrugated plastic maked accross with 1.5mm tape (which took me 90 minutes)

Then painted in darker stone..and touched up,,It's not perfect as there was some paint bleed around the rails and the junction of track to card but I think it looks effective enough...so now to start work on the base of the church........

Brilliant, the paint shading on that track piece makes it look like the card corrugations.

Once in place it will look grand!

Thanks for the kind words guys..it looks better now I am starting to enclose the steps and build the base to the church. I'm the first to admit it isn't perfect but neither is the thing in real life so hopefully that adds to the realism

Thought it was about time I updated.. I have been working on the track (honest) but just have nothing I want to show you yet,,,I am waiting for a few parcels to come for the church so I've hit a bit of a wall there. I have finalised the alpine section and have commited it to polystyrene and have been up to my arms in expanding foam, but again don't want to show you yet until it's a little further on. My brother has been working on a little suprise scene for me which involved me sending him a OO bicycle? He's coming up on friday as we are off snowboarding so can't wait to see what he has come up with, and will post it up before we leave...Anyway in the meantime I have decided the best way to build the other parts of turin (the piazza castello etc) is to use the "linka" system..so after a bit of trawling on E-bay I have bought these

Which should keep me out of mischief for a while

Also I have been looking for OO scale Fiat 500's as I will need to populate Turin with many of them but have only found HO scale one's which are way too small. Bought a little plastic one from E-bay but this was again too small. The idea is that I will take a mould and make many resin copies (another skill I will need to master!!),..so if anybody see's a OO scale one let me know

No explination needed for Italian Job fans (now I know what the bicycle was for!!)

Well nothing new for a week now as me and my bro are off snowboarding but I'll keep a watch out for the comments..(hope you are as stunned by this as I am)..\i owe him a few beers this week

...the sub station scene was exactly what I was expecting, but wow he totally exceeded my expectations!

Looking forward to seeing it in the context of your fine work!

Well back from my hols and my smelly snowboarding kit is all washed and put away (I am sure you wanted to know that!!), so thoughts turn again to the circuit and my exciting package finally arrived from the states (cheap overland mail does take some time). Anyway my resin roman building blocks turned up, so did a quick mock up...it's going to have to be 4 columns wide and not 6 as on the original church as it would be just too wide..anyway I think it will work well with a bit of tweaking.

and a reminder of the original
