Cheers for all the great comments about the poster
Must admit that I took inspiration and the awesome driver image from an old Brooklands poster advertising the British Double-Twelve hour race....great motor racing image. -------------------- |

what about a plastic chassis that convincingly looks and feels like a brass chassis

that would normally be called a brass chassis Mark
Tell you what...you bring your 'plastic' chassis, we'll put a flame underneath it, if it bends we'll agree it's plastic and you can race with it, if I can cook my toast on it, then it'll be classed as brass and disqualified....hows that sound??? -------------------- |

That seems fair. I trust that the entire field will have to pass this new rule
You never know how cunning people can be by making brass look like black plastic Actually I still have not build a brass chassis so I guess I better check with the master of the dark art. As a complete aside why would you want to cook toast |

Yep everyone expect the person that created the poster....he's get special dispensation for his time and efforts.....oh that was me!
I'm sure the master of the dark arts will be able to use dreaded mind tricks to get his brass chassis past the judges...just like he uses his powers on the timing computer!!! Toast is considered gourmet food in Gainsborough, so it'll be a treat!!!! -------------------- |

NEWS FLASH !!.
early reports are surfacing of an earthquake in the Gainsbro district, evidenced by Moe being in favour of the Big Track !!!!????. Steve immediately "called for a vote", (don't understand that one myself, very 1970's), then stated vociferously that he would not be turning up !!. Someone (??) suggested we should run the big track every week in that case !!??. vbr Chris A. |

Yes Moe did a very good U turn on his Big-G opinion...which I'm sure had nothing to do with his test run going very well
We definitely need to spend an hour on maintance next week as Moe quite rightly pointed out, the tape is up in a lot of places and it'll only get worse with running unless we sort it. Everyone up for a bit of Moe supervised gluing next week? We always said from the start of discussions on this....if people don't want to come then that's fine, it won't affect their main championship racing!!! It's a start chaps....who knows where this could end up -------------------- |

Ey Up Lee,
what class cars are you guys intending to run ??. Is it Slotit Challenge cars, and will we be limited on rear tyres ??. Might be a problem for some, so best agree asap. What Slotit tyres are best, and how do you treat them ??. vbr Chris. |

Class and rules still open for discussion I guess Chris, but personally and I think I can speak for most, Slot It Challenge rules would be ideal, but we don't want to alienate members who don't want to spend out on special cars...so maybe a more open sport class to start with. We know running Big-G will attract some other people along!
Ideally it would be great if we could eventually just follow Slot It rules, but that takes cash of course! Tyres...well I'm no expert, but I would say with Slot It tyres the F15's would be eaten after a couple of laps, they are too soft. My F22's were going pretty well last week after a few laps and with plenty of cleaning, but I think P6's would eventually work best once run in. Haven't quite worked out the treatment yet, but plenty of oil seems to work well...even 2 mins before putting the car on the track! -------------------- |
