hi
Andy,i have downloaded and installed and tested all versions that support bluetotth connection for the wireless throttles and this is what i have found,i will say again for clarity that i have no dongle, the bluetooth is built in and this laptop has been purchased just for ssdc and the wireless throttles. V5.2.1 connects up and plays instantly and i can name throttles and nice pic of the throttle body comes on the screen. V5.3.0 connects up and plays instantly with the above pic and name etc. V5.4.0 does not show up on new type of pop up screen once you have clicked wireless option.. V5.4.1 same result as v5.4.0. -------------------- |

So you are saying that the throtles don't even appear in the bluetooth discovery pop up window? How long are you leaving it to discover the throttle? That is very wierd, as this works on every configuration I have seen to date. In the popup window, what does the text on the bottom left say - something like "Radio is supported, using Microsoft".

Ade - have you applied any upgrades to Windows or the drivers since you bought the laptop? Is your machine set to automatically perform updates in the background??
If any of the above is true, you should be able to rollback the system to a time when you knew for definite that the system was working the way you expected it to...... -------------------- Beauty is in the eye of the beer holder

hi
the text in left side of pop up says what if windows can not find devices.. When i try to connect using .4 or higher what happens is this. Click on wireless option, bluetooth pop up window appears, wait and nothing is found, try to unclick the wireless option. Sometimes i can unclick it and try again, the second time round it usually comes up with the throttle icon in the pop up,click on it and press ok,then returns to race screen,if i then scroll down to throttle icon and view the throttle windows the throttle is not doing anything in the window,no guages or needles or lights do anything. On earlier versions it is possible to see all the needles and lights working.. -------------------- |

Sometimes you have to drag the top edge of the throttle window to see the gauges.

Ade, when you click on the checkbox to enable wireless, the window will appear. At the bottom of the window will be a thin green progress bar which will move quickly from left to right. The first time it does it, it will show remembered devices only (these are ones that you have connected to before). The second time, it will try to discover other active devices. This process will continue while the window remains open. Does this happen on your machine? Are you saying that it goes through this process and does not discover anything?

hi
i have not noticed the green bar, nothing appears in the pop up window first time round.if i attempt a second time it will find the throttle as well as phones that i have connected in the past, although these have been deleted for testing this out,so in saved devices only the throttle is present. I will have a look at other settings within the bluetooth menu tomorrow but as it all connected beautifully on older versions they must be ok.??? Lappy is a compaq with I3 chipset.. -------------------- |

I feel left out as my post didn't appear twice twice
Don't get too dejected Ade, you're in on the breaking the frontiers of new technology. Btw, it's not linked to your problems, but did your laptop come with an antivirus pre-installed, like McAfee or Norton, where they give you a free period and then try to make you cough up some money - some of my friends are getting caught by this & they are finding their computers slowing down ridiculously, as the programs are bloated and constantly using resources in the background. You can uninstall these if you are just connecting to SSDC, MS Win7 updates (important) and always using the latest browser version. If you feel the need for an anti-virus program, MS security essentials is small, free and effective. I've been using it for years now. Cheers Chris Chris |
