I will also have a quick look at adding a setting that avoids fuel burn as well as the fuel load effect on speed. Should be quite quick to do. I will try and get something out in the next week to cover this stuff. Thanks for that Andy, I thought I was going a bit bonkers not finding the setting....an "Enable" or "Disable" fuel setting will suffice....as Zarko mentioned, like it was in V4. -------------------- ![]() www.slotcargeek.com Current Setup: Scalextric C7042, SSDC 5.4.1.0; Firmware version 1.09; Throttle Pro Wireless, TruSpeed Digital 2.0 Controller Rug racing by circumstances not choice. 50+ Carrera cars reprogrammed to V3.3 In Car-Pro. |

Bug Report: Dynamic Braking cannot be turned off with C7030 PB-Pro v1.8hSH.
Symptom: dynamic brakes remain on. Tests: - set up driver with Dynamic braked disabled (unchecked), brakes still on during free practice and race. - set up driver with Dynamic brakes enabled (checked), brakes on during free practice and race. - manually turned brakes off in PB settings, setup driver with Dynamic brakes OFF (unchecked), brakes RE-enabled during free practice and race. Theory: SSDC is setting Dynamic brakes to ON in all situations. Possibly related to the need to have dynamic braked enabled for variable braking? -------------------- |}>------------------------------------------------------------------------------ |}>- The Magic of INOX MX3 as a braid/rail conditioner and how to apply it. |}>- My Scalextric Digital APB Instructional Videos |}>- Rainier Raceways is my home track |}>- SSD EXTREEEM!! showcase video |}>- My local digital club, DRAWW |}>- Swing by for a quick chat on my LIVE CHAT page. |}>------------------------------------------------------------------------------ |

Greg - I can't reproduce that one. I set up two drivers - one with brake button enabled and dynamic brake on, and the other with brake button disabled and dynamic brake off. They both worked as expected. I suspect that there is some other problem. Are you pressing the reload button in the race manager tool bar after you make changes to the race setup?

Yes, I was clicking the reload button. I also tested in a race with no difference.
I'll reset the PB to defaults and try again today to see if the problem is still there. Is tracing working with C7030? If so, I can send you one if that will help. |}>------------------------------------------------------------------------------ |

v5.1.1 is posted.
New features: Changed dynamic braking to use the same brake settings as the brake button (C7042 users only). Added a tool bar option to allow the disabling of fuel burn and its affect on performance. Leaderboard window brought forward automatically on race start. Function keys (F7=start/stop race, F8=pause/resume race, F9=toggle leaderboard/manager windows). Defect fixes: Fixed a defect with race ending where cars can continue adding laps after they have finished. Fixed a defect with fuel burn calculations for PB-Pro users. Fixed a defect which prevented auto track calls from starting with PB-Pro. Have fun! -------------------- |

Thanks all your great work, the auto switching to leader-board on race start is a great help.

Andy:
Thanks for your continued tweaking of SSDC. I have one problem though. I still can't get my car to burn enough fuel for a pit stop in a 3 minute race. No matter what my settings are I always end up with at least 1/4 tank left at race end. I'm using the C7042 APB. I set the Fuel Burn rate to thye extreme right (Fast) and the tank size to 10 and I still have over a 1/4 of a tank of fuel left the end of the race. It doesn't seem to matter what I set the tank size at, I always end the race with the same amount of fuel. Any ideas? |

Porsche Racer,
If you really want to get a refuel during a 3 minute race, on the Race Manager tab when setting drivers and cars, reduce the Fuel (%) to 30 - 50 % (or less if required) so you only start the race with minimal fuel, ensuring a refuel is required? Skot |

For a quick race with my son I've run on a fuel tank of size 2/3 before, gets me into the pits every minute or so. That was a small track though, not a lot of full throttle to drain the tank.

Found a few minutes to install the latest version and found everything working quite well and as it is expected to run. Brakes turn on and off as expected and fuel burn rate is back to normal. I didn't have a chance to run a race and test track calls and other stuff, but I expect that to work well, too.
Great job, Andy, as always!

One quick Q
At the start of a race. Do all 6 cars get power turned on at once? Would be nice if power was given to the 3 rows 1 row at a time. Something like every 1/10 of a second. Keeping cars from crashing into each other at a start of a race. Joel |
