oXigen RMS does not have fuel management. PcLapCounter does.

wow, i tried ithe demo quickly last night. It works great. So many features, so many settings. Didn't have time to try the fuel management and test the fuel weight/speed comparison. And I guess with just 10 laps allowed to test it I have to change the fuel burn ratio dramatically.

Good stuff, thanks!

Yes it's a very good program, and does not cost much.

Great program. Many options though, too many for me I think.
The one item I will comment on is the graphical fuel gauge. I wish we could completly eliminate it from the screen and I know the question does not belong here.

However I'm having a problem. I ran a car out of gas, I don't have a pit lane set up yet, so I kept re starting a new race but the car runs about of gas right after it passes the s/f line.

I first I thought it had sometthing to do with the throttle value associated with the galon unit consumption.
I recall the value being 1000 throttle position = 1 gal. What does that mean , how should this value be set.

I still think that slot.it should develop a simple fuel screen for the chrono and sell the new program for a price that makes sense for someone who does not need all the bells and whistles of pclapcounter initially. (Not to say the pclc is not .com great value)

You can re position the fuel gauge if you wish but why would you as you need it during racing to ensure that you do not run out of fuel.I am still learning how to use this program and it has so many options.I would say that you will have to set up a pit lane to use this option effectively and you will be able to set up the time it takes to fuel up and plus you can adjust the pit lane speed.

Not sure if I can help, but if you don't have a pit lane for now, in race settings, just click on the fuel folder and unclick the box for "Race with fuel management"

And when you start a race, where the fuel meter is, you drag the width of the column of the fuel meter, drag it to the left until it disappears.

its obvious that I would need a pit lane to race with fuel. But that is not the problem. The problem is this:
A car runs out of fuel in race 1. Then when I run race 2, the car seems to start with complete fuel but goes to zero as soon as it crosses the starting line.
I would think that if you re start the racer / start a new race everything goes back to normal but it really doesn't

I wonder if it has anything to do with this setting,

I really would like to know how to properly set this.

Also in the race settings, I wonder if the units are liters - throughout the entire program. 14 gallons is equivalent to 60L which is more realistic then 100L. (unless race cars really carry 100L)

the option "A total of" adjust the fuel consumption and it's also available per car (the car consumption setting will overwrite the general option).

Pc Lap Counter convert throttle positions in quantity of fuel like this:
Fuel consumption = ( 1 / X ) * T
X = Value you set in the option ‘a total of ....’
T = Total of throttle position sent by your hand controller during the lap

So for exemple if you set the option to 1000 and you have a total of throttle position of 3950 for one lap , the result will be: 3.95 L
(1 / 1000 ) * 3950 = 3.95 L
To know how much throttle position you got for one lap go in the oXigen interface of Pc Lap Counter activate ‘show throttle data’ and a window will display the throttle data.
Another way to ajust consumption for each car is to use the calibration functionnality.
You will find the complete explanation of the fuel management here

PS:
It's better to post questions related to Pc Lap Counter in the Pc Lap Counter forum ( to avoid multiple channel to get information on Pc Lap Counter)

I know it is not the entirely correct forum but I give it a try anyway. Can you use pclapcounter and scp01 to initiate yellow flag mode where all cars stop/slows down? Somewhat like the ssdc functionality where you press a button to stop cars during deslotting.

I have downloaded the program and read through the manuals but I can't find a "how to".

Any clarity is greatly appreciated.

Thanks
Jonas

Hi,

You can't use the scp01 to initiate a yellow flag because at this moment the dongle don't send information on the status of the scp01 BRAKE and LC buttons, but you can initiate a yellow flag by using a external button connected to a phidget interface, here is a video

Thanks Guy. But for us casuals it would be better if the buttons on the controller could be used for this. Not that i rule out the phidget interface - I just thonk that a functionality like this should be fairly easy to implement in Oxigen and of great value. So I guess the question is for Slot.it - will the controllers at some defined time in the future pass the button information to the dongle so that this (and probably loads of other features) could be implemented?

( i couldn't see if there was an explanation for my following question on the PC lapcounter page )

Will a car with less than half a tank of fuel be quicker than a car with a full tank of fuel???

If someone wants to translate my question in better english, be my guest smile.gif

Yes it will , in fact in the options screen (tab page oXigen) you can specify the impact of the fuel on max power:
For example if you specify a fuel impact of 20% it mean that a car with 100L will have 80% of his max performance and a car with 40L will have 92% of his max performance.
The fuel impact option have no influence on “ghost” driver as there is no fuel management for “ghost” driver.
If you don’t want to set the car performance against the fuel level then set the fuel impact option to 0 %.

All information on Pc Lap Counter and Oxigen available here: http://www.pclapcounter.be/slot_it_oxygen.html

In this video i set the fuel impact to 50% and i really feel the performance difference between full tank and half tank
