This Racer Ferrari 330 P4, bought off the THAT auction site, arrived this afternoon. I've already started setting it up for our Classic class.

Enjoy!

I'm hoping to keep one of these nice for myself, but the other is a sacrifice for this weekend's fund raiser at our local Scout Hut here in Knaresborough... http://www.slotcartimeattack.com

I wonder who will be the first person to post their new Racer Capri in here.

Well, that sucked. We had a great day, but these were never able to turn a full lap as they arrived with their rear pinions split. They are *very* pretty, but are absolutely rubbish with just front wheel drive. Shame.

Stoo, I didn't want to put a dampener on your purchase, I love the look of AA cars but they are generally worse than awful out of the box. I too have fun with my Scooby and Evo neither made it round a lap so I just stuck them on a shelf till I could be bothered to look at them.

With some glue, tweaking etc I did manage to get the Veyron and the Konig going, the konig actually flies round the track and with some good tyres might not fly off it so much.

I wasn't particularly looking for something fast, just something eye catching for the kids to muck about with for a couple of hours. Pinions seem to be a weak spot for more than one manufacturer. (Fly springs to mind.) You'd think that for the amount of effort that's gone into the bodies that an extra 0.5p for a more durable pinion would be a logical choice to make. Well, I will probably have a go at fettling one at some point, as it would be nice to see at least one of them do a full lap tongue.gif

Oh, and I've been talked into keeping the 4lane track up for the Beaver and Cub meetings tomorrow night. That will be three days in a row that I have been running events. I can't remember the last time I had this much exercise. Marshalling cars is tiring work.

On a positive note, the Scalextric Super Resistant cars have been absolutely rock solid. Next time I'm flush with cash I think I'd like to raid the range for a fleet of the race decorated versions. The plain ones are working great, but they're just not terribly exciting to look at.

OK, well enough of the shelf queens, now some racers.

I've started going to MHSC so I needed to start getting some competitive analogue cars so I opted for

NSR Ford GT40 for the classic Class

NSR Porsche 997 GT for the Mod GT class

ok, one for the shelf

Also for the Mod GT class, and I'm aware that it will need LOTS of work but it looks so cool.
Revell BMW 320

ok, another for the shelf

One for the shelf
Avant Slot Pug 908

And while I was combining post I got this to put in that box that one day I will sell, or forget I have

stooo, I've got 4 - took the front pinions off, put a brass pinion on the back and got the tyres a little less shiny. Slipped a chip in and now have four of the best drifting little SSD cars I own. Good fun.

Just like to add, check the wheels and tyres over as they often fall off the axles under stress and the tyres slip.
Either glue them all on or just replace the wheels entirely with some aftermarket parts.
Good luck with them, AA cars are notoriously awful out of the box but after persistence and £££ you can get some "good" cars out of them.

Congratulations Stoooo! Our Treasurer at the club might have his tomorrow evening at free practice and then we will get a closer look. I am waiting for either the BMW 320i or the Mustang IMSA ( or both) ...

Superb car Pace.....

Martin De`Ath gave me 3 Jouefs for renovation on Sunday. They`ve turned out great.

EType Jaguar.

Another BRM & Ferrari.

I was lucky to get this rare classic on Tuesday. From 1968, the VIP Ferrari Dino.
