Lots of movie tie ins - I guess whatever works to sell cars so that they can make the cars we want to buy.
The XB Falcon will have a lot of appeal to folks down under cheers DM -------------------- Redisovering slotcars

I'm interested to see what the following un-allocated numbers will be:
Obviously there will be at least 3 limited edition USA only releases A collectors car special (wonder what that will be). 2-4 Aussie V8's C3259 C3260 C3264 C3271 C3275 C3278 C3282 C3295 C3296 C3304 C3308 C3309 C3310 My wife is chuffed with the range announcement today, very few things that I'll be picking up, probably the Lotus 49, definitely the Ford XB Falcon and maybe the 007 Aston to complete the set. -------------------- |

Good do Scaley, not bad at all!
With the RS200 being such a fun car to drive, and pretty nippy too, the 6r4 should be good. The limited edition twin pack (C3267A) and the individual cars, will definatly be on my pre-order list, and I'm sure I wont be alone (Gareth, you know what I mean Also, the Fiesta and Mini look like nice additions, although the Mini might be a bit of an 'odd' release, espcially if the rumours about them pulling out of the WRC in 2012, come true. And finally, the Clark Lotus 49, and the 2011 Lotus-Renualt, you cant go far wrong with these! Well done Scalextric, 2012 should be a good year. |

Being an F1 fan at first sight the range looks good. However, I reckon that the Mercedes Petronas and Vodafone Mclaren will be re-hashes of the current shape/moulds. But I can forgive them that as they are releasing the latest Clark and Renault Lotuses.
I will have to buy both the 2011 and 2012 Renault Lotus versions as long as the 1:1 car's shape does not change a great deal over this winter as again, I think that the same mould will be used for both. Looking forward to the cars but I shall not pre-order as I want to see them before I spend my cash. Cheers Scalextric, Philip P.S. Any ideas what cars will be in the two car James Bond Set? |

Range this year is average. I have already pre-ordered the Lotus (obviously), but the Lotus Renault is annoying, as I bought the SCX version
Limited Editions are nice as they are more limited than before, but there are no sets this year that I really want. I am a little underwhelmed. Too many reliveries and not many new cars Cheers, Chris |

Limited Editions New limited edition products include: C3267A - Classic Rallycross (Ford RS200 / Metro 6R4) limited to 3000 ![]() Schwiiiiing !!! Is it just me, or do there seem to be a fair number of models that duplicate offerings from other manufacturers ? Wouldn't it make more sense to have a few offerings that differentiate themselves as a manufacturer, rather than jumping up and down, waving their arm in the air yelling, "Me too, me too !" It also seems a bit 'toy' heavy with the movie tie-ins, but I think we should let that one slide if it fills the coffers a bit. With a bit more cash in the bank, they may be able to innovate a bit more for next year. Oh, and I am one of the world's biggest Star Wars fans, and I'm struggling to get excited about slot Speeder Bikes. Shudder. -------------------- I like to use my track for fundraising events - http://www.slotcartimeattack.com

Good to see an Aussie car being done and a Ford at that. Hope the XB Falcon is a definate as I would love to get a couple, I can see the black Mad Max interceptor already. Will have to get the Peugeot 908, can't have the rest and not this one. Not much else tickles my fancy at the moment, not in the scaley range anyway, but its only early days.

Oh, and I am one of the world's biggest Star Wars fans, and I'm struggling to get excited about slot Speeder Bikes. Shudder. I think im in the same boat as you. Love the group B but I can get those cars from msc in more liveries and they stick the release dates better. Big star wars fan also but these look like they will be crappy toys. I would be better of sticking revell easy kits of old chassis. And Im guessing the batman stuff will be 1/43 again. Not really a lot of good stuff unless you are a big formula 1 fan. -------------------- ++++
Chances are I've written this message using my mobile blackberry. If this is the case then what is written above might be full of spelling errors, random letters, badly laid out and generally a load of old rubbish - so no different from usual then :) Tom |
