The way I understand it is that lower values of resistor barrels(45 Ohm,25Ohm etc) are meant for use on larger layouts with longer straights There are lots of factors in choosing resistor values - some are Cars with more tyre grip generally need fewer ohms Cars with magnet traction generally need fewer ohms than the same car without magnet traction Cars that handle better generally need fewer ohms Cars with higher current motors often need fewer ohms Tracks with lower voltage generally need fewer ohms Tracks without tight corners sometimes need fewer ohms The length of straights rarely makes much difference to how many ohms are needed Some drivers prefer less ohms than others. |
