Scalextric did a good job, the car looks like the real thing; Not everybodies taste.
I hope the front wheels have some vertical travel, so it can also be driven without magnet.
A remark: Why is the Scalextric roll cage not white but black?

For those like me who would prefer a clean version, can I suggest you contact Scalextric through their web site.

After all they did a clean and dirty version of the Peugeot 307 some years ago.

''Thank you for your e-mail. The World Rally Championship Mini (Ref No C3301) has a proposed release date of July 2012. There are no current plans to produce a non weathered version, however we do keep a record of all customer requests and product suggestions, which we do take into consideration when planning all future ranges''.

Oh well!. Carrera it is then

The detail on this is amazing, they should do a 2 part set with this one and the old Shape Morris mini cooper s (C2919).

They could put one inside the other - special packaging!

Has anyone bought the new Mini WRC and tested it. Is it a good runner?

One of them ran at our club in the 2WD rally class. No problems with it. Not fast but it ran nicely enough.

The interior space of the space of the BMW Mini is more or less the same as the old BLMC Mini .......... not many people know that ... ohmy.gif

The extra size of it is all the strengthening and safety features now required by modern standards .... smile.gif

Hi rally fans.
My apologies, I did get the race description wrong. The car we planned on replicating in the early stages (excuse the pun) was the Sardinian rally version but we jumped (yumped?!) over to the Finland Rally livery. I omitted to update the specification file and thus the incorrect Press release.

Thanks for the feedback on 'dirty' or 'clean' livery preferences. To date, we still haven't received a leaning one way or the other. It doesn't seem unreasonable to offer rally cars in both states of livery whilst there are slot fans asking for both. After all, they are 'rally' cars and are more often depicted in rally dirt than as showroom cars. I understand and am not surprised that both options are always requested.

On the subject of 4wd vs 2wd: 0ur series of 4wd drive cars had mixed reviews and on balance the standard 2wd on the rear axle is the preference for most racers. Therefore, after listening to your feedback, other sources of input and our own take on our 4wd series, we made the decision to return to the standard chassis set up.

We can, and do, make changes to our product that fits requests made on Slot Forum (and elsewhere) - but just as equally, it will probably not fit with the preferences of others on this Forum - such as the 'dirty' vs. 'clean' argument.

We are, as always, glad of any input and feedback good or bad. It keeps us on our toes.

Happy Racing.

Any good?

Got one to fettle for next year's Slot Rally GB. The full detail Fiesta was a pleasant surprise though, but the MINI is HUGE! Needs work on getting the front axle moving vertically and then see how she fares on Ultras at the back and Zero Grips on the front. I don't want to add weight if it can be avoided on this one.
