Took these two out of their boxes for a service & a polish up with Autoglym Super Resin Polish.
They`ve came up really well. Cheers, Kev.

They are superb. Tell us Kev do you vacuum the layout ? There's never a sign of dust or cobwebs

I most certainly do vacuum the layout Allan!
After every use I rub the rails with an old oily cloth, then go back over them with a clean/dry cloth. It`s a large old layout, but there`s not a single power tap or soldered joint anywhere - lay it properly , keep it clean & it will never let you down! Once a week I also rub the plastic with a clean cloth. Once a month the whole layout gets hoovered. When it goes into winter hibernation I spray all the track with WD40 for added protection. I maintain my Jouef layout in the same way....our lass reckons I`m a right tart! By the way, Autoglym works great on most old slots. But be very careful on early tampo printed cars & ones with a metallic finish. You only need a tiny amount to do a whole car. Old plated Jouef cars come up amazing with Autoglym. ![]() Cheers, Kev. -------------------- " KISS MY JOUEF!"

super resin polish is the daddy! my preferred choice anyway. brought this old girl up a treat.
![]() however , this old sl needs a bit more than just polish. safe to say though that autoglym will finish the paint off on this one too!

Thanks for sharing that Kev.... You know what? I've been using the wife's furniture polish to bring my old Scalextric models up for a while and yet I use Autoglym Super Resin Polish on my car? I swear by it, so why did I not think of that? From now on I'm going to start using it on my models.
Looking at your pics it does really bring them up very well. Billy |

Thanks Billy, I`ve used Autoglym for years. The only plastic it sometimes doesn`t make an impression on is the soft, dull type that was used on Formula Juniors.
When I was a kid I used to use the Duraglit soft wadding that came in a tin! Cheers, Kev Before & after. A Jouef car restoration & polished with Autoglym. ![]()

Billy bear in mind though that super resin polish is very slightly abrasive. older decals may not respond well to its attention. execise a little caution on anything other than plain shells. |

on the flip side though....it is pretty useful for "refreshing" clear plastics.
