Hi Riko

As always I'll take your advice on the cable, many thanks I've PM'd you re $s and sending one.

Actually starting to get a bit excited about getting the APB into the track, allbeit a few years behind the mainstream.

Thanks

Marty

hi
if youre running ssdc Marty seriously consider the excellent bluetooth wireless throttles that you can use when you swap over to the apb.

Opting for these will also allow you to fully exploit the mih in car pro re-flashed chips as well..

All of the above add a lot more realism and usability to a race track, once you have run wireless there is no going back.

Also important to update the apb to the latest firmware to make the best out of ssdc..

Happy racing. thumbsup.gif

kers is coming, Andy is testing as we speak - finally a use for the button on the bluetooth units for those not using MIH chips...

Hi Bigbird

The thought of the wireless throttles had crossed my mind, I'm sure mine are getting on a bit.

I'll get the PB & SSDC set up changed and reliable and then take the next step, maybe an early Christmas present.

Re the mih in car pro re-flashed chips, well that might be for a rainy day's research.

Hi all

Tested the APB set up and then put into the track, 1st thing that I really notice is that SSDC operates so much better as opposed to working with the PB Pro SH?

Pit-Pro works fine and the Rich-G lap tower is up and running over the long cable ok.

I reckon the the power is down a bit between the old PB Pro SH and the new APB (stock standard), on my track as my favourite VE Commodore is down 0.8ish a lap running the APB at 15v.

Those of you that have done the power upgrade, has it made a noticable difference?

I previously run the PB Pro SH at 14v and it was great, I'm now running the APB at 15v and it's not quite as good, at this stage I'm only running the one car.

If the APB power upgrade makes a good difference I'm keen to give it a go.

An after thought when I was climbing all over the track, is the track section of the old 6PB the same as new APB? I was just pondering the ability to do a quick swap.

I'll post some pictures tomorrow, our cold ozzie winter pushed me out of the shed and back into the house for a cold beer, go figure.

hi
there have been several reports Marty of ssdc running cars slighty slower when they are connected to the pb.

If you run the cars with the tower connected you should see comparable lap times to the old pbpro unit.

I dont know why they run slower though and as i only ever run with the pc connected i do not notice it anymore.

I no longer miss my pbpro unit and much prefer the apb and all the other goodies that can come with it.

Hi bigbird

Just ordered the resistors from RS, so I'm going to give the power upgrade a go, the drop in speed/power from the PB-Pro SH to the new APB is not acceptable I just have to have the same or better, been very spoilt with the PB-Pro SH.

Must say I love the way SSDC works with the APB, looking forward to exploring that a bit more.

Is anyone able to convert the V4 database file into the V5? I tried to use a SQ Lite but failed badly, lucky for backup copies, any help would be appreciated.

Marty ........ I PM'd you on the 26th June in reply to your PM. Check your message box because you will need to email the database to me smile.gif

Be aware though that not all information can be converted because of the way that v5 works differently to v4.

Hi Marty.

Have you noticed that when you activate the fuel simulation in SSDC, cars only have 90% power when the tank is full. Car has more weight when the tank is full smile.gif Power increases when fuel level goes lower. That is the default setting. You can alter that if you want. And if you disable the fuel simulation then cars have 100% power. And of course check the drivers power settings too.

And what goes to those voltages. My APB is giving 18,6 VAC to the track.

Hi Nanook

Speed is down even a 100% power and no fuel simulation, all drivers at full power, I'll check the A/C-V at the track I don't think it is anywhere near 18v.

Is you APB standard or have you done the power mod?

Greg

I'll email the DB tonight, thanks

Hi Marty,

I run a 30m track with 34 lane change flippers. You need the power upgrade!

I also have a 4 lane start finish separated from the base that is pluggable and can be used with my PBProSH (now kept as back up) or my APB.

How it is wired up means that it can ONLY be used for digital (no analogue option) but it works a treat.

I will try to post some pics soon.

Regards.

Simon
