Scale Models Slot racing Club are running an open invitational race of these fantastic little cars, powered by the Jonson motor which certainly levels the field.

The club will open @10:00 with a predicted start of 11:00, we hope to have it all over by 16:00. Racing will be on the 5 lane wooden track.

We are hoping to have some visitors from other clubs and would love to see the Heart of England racers making an appearance. The rules for the cars will be that of our Retro F1 class, I am sure this will mean if the HoE rules differ they will still fall into our rules without modification.

So if you are interested just show up on the day, or if you want more info PM me. The more the better.

Marvin

Hi Marvin

I may yet get a pass out from Mrs H for the day.

I'll enter into negotiations tonight.

I'll let you know as soon as I can.

Sorry to mess you about, but dealing with Mrs H can be like dealing with Superfly TNT (godloveher).

Bumped again for no other reason than to gain a little more exposure for this event. All welcome with your Retro F1 Johnson powered (sic) cars.

Hi

Its looking good for this weekend at the moment for me.

I've got a few questions though.

You are running a routed track? How deep is the slot and what is the rail made from?

How do your car regs differ from the Heart of England F1 regs?

What tyre type? Crown Wheel and Pinion etc etc.

I really hope to be there Sunday.

Ian H

Hi

I've found your main 70s F1 regs elsewhere on SF so I'm reasonably happy that I can get my cars prepped.

I just need to know the depth and width of the slot you run.

I need to make a decision on guide types so I'm not desperately altering a set up in the pits when you are calling me to race in a heat.

Hi Ian I hope you can make it.
I use the SlotIt deep guide on the track I am not sure of the exact dimensions of the grove sorry. The power is supplied by copper tape. One thing I will just mention our timing system does not handle white guides so if you have black they seem to work the best.

Hi All
Just some notes for tomorrow.
If you need directions pleas PM me before 8pm tonight. I will happily give you my mobile number (Malcolm has it already if you have contact with him). The Mill is at post code SK6 7HX. The easiest way into the mill is via the door next to the canal (if you put the above post code into Google the pin is right by the canal). The car park is on the side of the mill away from the canal. We are on the 5th floor and the small lift inside the door canal side should be operating.

The fee for racing will be £5.00, there will be light refreshments, pizza and biscuits provided. You are always welcome to bring your own food. A note, please make sure that all food waste is taken from the track rooms, we will provide a bag for this waste it should not go in the bins especially the bins in the Master Track room.

If anyone has more questions then PM myself, pleas do this before 8pm this evening to guarantee a reply.
