I'm using the Scalextric digital lap counter with a 4 car pb to test out my oval track. I was racing 2 cars and noticed the laps were counting down sometimes when a car passed over the "X" style lane change section as well as the lap counter. So a race would go from 20 laps down to 18 laps in 1 lap! Anyone else noticed this?

hi
not heard of this one before but it always worthwhile keeping the braids tidy when using digital.

Splayed braids can cause shorts on crossovers and lane change sections. yikes.gif

The QoS set prolly also had old XLC pieces. Search for "DPR the solution" or "DPR fix" to see where the tips of the rails should be painted with an enamel to prevent splayed braids from crossing both rails at once. We found that this can cause strange things with the APB, so maybe recent lap counters have the same issue.

OK I just tried some black nail polish following the guide in RioRockets thread. I'll test it once it dries.

The nail varnish works......that's the best 93 cents I spent today. Now I can race without losing laps.
