Hi all
Well we got it out of the packet. Thru up a quick circuit , placed two cars and Plug in the psu ...and away we went? erm no hmm fast flickering lights thats not what we excpected mad.gif . remove psu try again..same. try other socket..same...remove psu try other one...ahh thats better.

And were racing. Cool, nice response, nice control, cars felt slick, big smiles. cool.gif tongue.gif

Ok lets get a pace car going.. hmm menu system looks like it was written by a ... took me ages to find pro mode, simple enough now I have done it once, just brain dead I guess. ok be nice Mark your just not used to it tis all.(after falling off the bike maybe I hit my head) After a bit of fiddling I think I have sorted it out. Id'd a car as pace car. Was strange that I could set the pacer speed with the arrow buttons but I had to plug a controller in so I could hit the small button so as to change the pace lane change mode to random. Anyway the get out of menu mode just feels unintuitive but we got there and set the yellow flag mode and hit start and away we go.

Hey not bad that certainly mix up the fun a little.. Got stuck behind the silly pacer a few times..ok this is good. oops im off..break..everyone stops I place myself back on ...oo I have to reach over and hit the start button ok I guess thats the best they can do. I couldnt seem to work out a pause either Will have to read the manual again.

Hey lets try 2 pace cars...And were racing....SAFE.. all stop ... what? ohh yeah may need the other power supply but its like in some wierd no go world of its own, well thats going back to the shop. ohmy.gif

Ok so other than the bad psu(we'll chalk that as bad luck) and the gobbldegoo menu system, pretty chuffed with it. There will be some hours of fun to be had.

Im not sure what to do at the end of a race tho, F1, 20 laps Car 1 wins then its stops everyone. then some numbers come up. Must have missed where in the manual it explains what these are. erm I push buttons in the hope of getting the cars back to the grid so we can have another race...oops there goes the pace cars round n round... fair enough, grab it as it comes around. I wonder if there is an all stop button, I thought start/stop would do that..maybe Im in some weird mode..BTW screen needs backlighting or side lighting, A couple of LEDs would have solved that guys geesh,

I still feel like Im missing a manual..
Now sleep and we'll have a quick fling tomorrow then I must put it away for the weekend other prioritys take precedence.

Haha, sounds pretty familiar:-)

I think I had the same hassle (except for the broken psu). But with some patience you will manage to deal with it. I can find my way now but I agree the menus are not that good. And the manual even worse. But after all, it works.
The numbers shown after a race are fastest laps of the drivers, and finish positions.
I bought SSDC, much more user friendly interface.

There might be some helpful videos someone made to help people understand the crazy APB menu system. ;-)

yep a re read of the manual over a cup of tea this morning and I found a few things Im sure were not there last night :lol.
I swear I got into some modes with some displays that just dont appear in the manual. Whether I can find them again or not is another matter wink.gif

at 4secs a lap......We need more track! hah hha. Having now seen it tho I have no concerns about making some interfacing track out of wood.,

ok power supply replaced, thanks mr dealer. I got to give it a bit of a play in between other happenings.

Not sure I follow all of the after race statistics.. i think its just the last one that has us stumped. Ill give details later as its not in front of me.

Got two pace cars going around and three of us racing. Lotsa fun.

Changeovers can be a bit of trick. Still getting use to leaving space behind the slow car in front else you end up on their track. I really dont like the position of the hand controller CL button. Too hard to get fine throttle control and push the CL. Been using my spare hand to push that.

Also the START/Pause Resume after yellow button needs to be bigger and possibly an external foot switch:)I also think that the resume from yellow should have a countdown. As it is, the person pushing it has a slight advantage. I suspect this is just beginners desires tho.

Yes, use your other hand to activate the lane change button. Even if it were in a better place, it's a lot easier to control one digit on each hand independently, than two on the same hand.
Having a short countdown delay after a pause/yellow would be fantastic. That's probably my biggest gripe about the APB right now. I haven't used it with SSDC extensively yet, but I think the same is true when using that as well (someone correct me if I'm wrong, please). This is especially strange because a countdown after pause has been a staple of 6 car SSD use for a while.

Awesome news thanks Bigbird.

Is there a wiki or todo list web site somewhere?

hi
have a look on the ssdc website. There is a section on the to do projects that allows you to place votes against your favourite ideas.
