Sorry folks, nothing to post about the above track though I hope it will still happen one day.
Mean while it has become clear I need a new event track. So here is the plan. Building is due to start this week.
Here's the track, it's bigger than my last one. 5.4m x 2.7m

Not racing much these days. Really need to get back into it.

Well you just knew it was coming. New 3 lane MDF track.

Tomorrow I have free reign of the workshop so I will start making the boards and drawing out the trak ready for routing.
I hope to post some pics tomorrow night. Keep checking back folks.

Well as promised some pics.

Think I may of over complicated this bit.
13 different radii in total 9 of them on boards 1 and 2.

Pic is upside down.

Boards made. Just waiting for the glue to dry.

This is gonna take some working out.

routing started.

Routing finished. Not my best but have only got weekend time in the workshop so got to get on with it.

Hope to get a bit more done tomorrow. Got a stinking cold though so don't really feel like it.

Unfortunately no news or progress to report folks. Work has gone mental and after a 60 hour week I really don't fell like or have the energy to start building a track. Don't think it will be ready for the 8th Feb for the Porsche club race night. But never say never. And they can always race on the old track.

Managed to get some more done done today.

I have routed all of the highlighted bit, so just about 4 boards done. So that that's about half way.

Even though I'm only half way through the routing I'm getting the feeling that this will be a fast track and more like a race track.
The first track I built, my home track is just that, and a decent club track. So I've been told.

This is 70' lap 4 lane MDF.

It's been out of use for a while now due to too much clutter on top and around it. I will get it cleared out this year.

The Pioneer track drives like a dream and is a fair representation of a real club track tight twisty and fun.

The rally track I was very pleased with and I think it too represented a rally stage.

Here are the latest pics of the new track.

Now the 4 boards seperate to get an idea of the size.

This is my biggest modular yet.

I am getting the feeling that the top loops are gonna be great to drive.

Comments welcome

I like the long sweeping corners. All your previous tracks look like good fun to drive. Keep the pics coming.

Well it's been a while, but finally got a chance to do some more to the track.
Boards 4 and 5 routed.

Well almost.

Boards 5 and 6

Help!! I've create a monster!

( its better if you see it the right way up.

First board to get painted. I'm using Halfords 'go faster' stripe to mask to leave me a white line. Hope it works.

Good job the workshop is closed for bussiness, I seem to have taken over. All boards with white under coat and half with with first top coat.

Really pleased with the colour,

f one of the mods knows how to rotate the pics then feel free to. Thanks

Had a good couple of days, got all the first coat finished this morning and them got all the boards second coated.
Here are the first couple of boards with the masking removed. The desired effect was achieved.

A couple more done.

3,4 and 5

Now, to add scenery or not to add scenery?

Last 2 boards drying in the spray room and that's me fore the day.

Decision made. I am going to add scenery.
Reason, because the track will be used at fetes etc and it will look more appealing to the the younger generation.
Let's hope slot track scenics can do me a good deal.

Probably the last post for a couple of days chaps.
Workshop back in full swing tomorrow so my 'little' project gets push to the side.
Anyway managed to get the copper on 5 of the 8 boards today.

Very pleased with. Looks almost professional

Scenery ordered from our friends at Slot track scenics, he's a very nice man. Will make a start on it once I have all the copper done and the wires connected.
