Well a slightly disappointing Toy Fair this year to be honest, a mirror of ExCel?

There wasn't really THAT much new and alot of that was simple reliveries of existing or 'for the sake of it' stuff it seemed.
It wasn't ALL dull and negative though and there were some great highlights which will follow in other threads on Nürnberg.

(NOTE: SCI has a massive amount of photos on their site from Nürnberg and I do not see any point in simply repeating my versions of each one of them here, after all most offerings were locked away from grubby fingers so perspective isn't going to be that different. I will, therefore, stick to a few simple and 'worth a mention' pics
However if you have a specific question on any picture from the SCI database, just ask and I will provide what information I can.)

Anyway, lets start with Ninco...

Ninco Digital was not around at Nürnberg, their display centered on Reliveries and a couple of new releases plus their ever growing range of Rally style track sections.

As you all already are now aware, Ninco are starting to break into the cars from the JGTC and similar series so we have Toyota Supras joining the Honda NSXs, lets hope for more !

Here are the announced liveries for the Supras so far...

New Honda NSX livery which I like alot!...

A couple of new Porsche Liveries...

The rest of the stand was dedicated to the Rally tracks and the RAID series, all of which has been seen before whilst the proposed new RAID vehicles were not around!

Forthcoming info - GOM, Revell Monogram, Scalextric, Spirit and Carrera.....

Hi Swiss,

Looking forward to your reports. I remember the good old days when Gary's MRE reports were the be all and end all of Toyfair News... (and that's only a couple of years ago!) - he still does a great job and is a must read.

Now we're spoiled for choice and actually have digital photos uploaded from the trade show media rooms!

I also get the sense that this year is / was a little shy on the wow factor...

If there was one overall highlight for me, it was Slot It's Group C line up. I can't wait for these to hit the market.

A quick question for you, any sight or news of Vanquish MG?

Thanks for all the hours you put into these reports. It's a fun time of year.

Vanquish MG are stalled as a Company producing slot cars. There is no solid decision to stop production permanently yet but the announcement will come in the next couple of months.
I don't know for sure but I suspect the descision will rest on past reception of their first few slot cars (look at the terrible Parmalat car!) and the success of their resin stand alone range which I believe are 1/43 scale.
This comes (I am again surmising) from the history of the owner of VMG who was once part of Fly and Fly also produce/produced? 1/43 scale models.

Thanks for the comments, it was fun being at the show even if the wow factor was missing.

Also in the great slot gravel pit in the sky sadly if you can believe the rumours.

Thing is with Proslot you just never know if or when they are going to resurface, a bit like a lost sock.

It seem as if Ninco and Slot-It where the "winners" on both fares.
Slot-It with Le Mans protypes, Ninco with the JGTC's.
As these two also gives us cars that are competetive inside each class, ie the same set-up, it's another point in their favour.

I really hate it when a brand makes different set-ups for their own cars, even within the same class! Just look at Scalextric, you can't make a field out of their Le Mans cars; you can't pit a MG Lola against Cadillac Northstar, and then the Lister is in a third class... sad.gif

Serious cudos to Slot-It and Ninco, for keeping the set-up relativly standardarized!
