Superslot (Scalextric Hornby in Spain) created a new club - Superclub- It's not clear what they offer, but for 34.80€ (incl. VAT) you get one-year subscription + two items:
-McLaren F1 "Pedro M. de la Rosa" (driven & signed).
-Honda Telefónica "Sete Gibernau" (driven & signed).

There's something interesting: they say that new tracks are compatible with (textually):
-Superslot Classic.
-Scalextric Classic (Hornby).
-Scalextric Original (Tecnitoys).

Seems like they want to make clear THEY are Scalextric around the world... and they want the Scalextric name back in Spain.

--------------------
People tell me A and B, They tell me how I have to see, things that I have seen already clear.
So they push me then from side to side, they're pushing me from black to white, they're pushing 'til there's nothing more to hear.

But don't push me to the maximum, shut your mouth and take it home, 'cause I decide the way things gonna be.

I want out!

My good friend Josep Pastor, formerly with SCX Technitoys and now Hornby's International Marketing Director, kindly sent me a set of the Superslot Superclub models.

Sorry, not the best pictures!

Renault R25 Fernando Alonso, Honda Telefónica Sete Gibernau, McLaren F1 Pedro de la Rosa.

Kind regards,

Russell

OK Russell,
What I can do for you is this, I will PM you my real name and address, so in the future if any of these "nasty people" send you these un-wanted and un-necessary items in the post, you can simply forward them to me, I will discreetly, dispose of them, and no-one will ever know. I will not require payment for this service but please take note, I would not do this for just any one.

Regards

Out of idle curiosity, what is the current (and/or upcoming) Scalextric Club car?

Purely for the purposes of comparison, of course! wink.gif

Well, that and the proliferation of slot clubs and the considerably more liberal firearms laws wink.gif tongue.gif

cool.gif wow what a lot for 34 euros, even at tourist rate this works out around £24.50. Although to be fair I did rejoin Scalextric racer club this year as they were offering the Mitsubishi club car + 1 old one (red gt 40 for a repaint please)Interesting to see what hornby come up with this year. A proper magazine for "grown ups" would be a good starting point, with a mag., only car, mustang, camero , or how about re-releasing some of the 60/70's cars as was done with the power and glory.

Checked in to the subscription and had this reply from SuperSlot

Dear Doug,

We have just received your request for being a member of the SuperClub SuperSlot, but pitifully we're not able to accept members who live outside Spanish territories.

We are very sorry for not being able to subscribe you to our club, but if you have any adress in Spain to send the material, you could be a SuperClub SuperSlot's member.

Hoping you'll go on enjoying of the wonderful Slot world, we send you our best regards.

Just ordered one of these Scalextric/ Super Slots Renault R25 Formula 1 cars (C2649A) as the price was right. Anyone can tell me how they perform ? I downloaded an old Scalextric service sheet on this car and it seems to show a front button magnet fitted. Is this correct ?
