A very interesting rance of cars that will surely be popular with R5 fans. Thanks to Gaugemaster for supplying the info.

You don't need a good grip of Spanish to work out what "soportes mas robustos" means! Good to see that they realise there was a problem with the drop arm mounting on the 205. Jexy's one came loose more than once at the Slot 32 rally event.

Still not sure about the 205's appearance, but I think I'll have to dip into the Renault 5 market! Looks a good'un.

The set screws for the front ride height are a nice touch, look forward to the Ragnotti version (a long time favorite of mine...)

Yes, yes, yes. All very fine and dandy. Little rollerskate rockets. Very nice. I'll take an Alesi car and fight the urge to set fire to a small stick of leaves and inhale.

But what about the Skyline? Hmmm?

I just got myself a 205 last week, an I love it!!! So this is great news cheers.gif . It'll be interesting to see how it compares to the soon to come Fly R5. I suppose mag people will like the Fly and non mag (like me) will love the Spirit version. I just love the way the 205 drives on my new track here. Plenty of power, super smooth and drop dead good looks. My girlfriend likes it so much she's even getting one of her own thumbsup.gif

I'll almost definately get the Ragnotti one.

I've decided to buy a new 'class' of car "Insane / Beautiful or just plain peculiar rally cars." (actually - that could be "Rally Cross" cars nowadays!)

Already have a Lancia Stratos..

shame on you! YOU may resist the urge to smoke, but you might encourage some of our juniors to take up the demon weed! oh, you are truly a disgrace to club chairmen the world over...

i'd demand your resignation if i didn't think you would hand it in, and then make me do the job...

I like the little Peugeot now I have seen Jexy's, the shape looks a little boxy however it has a unique charm akin to the Cartrix Classic's, not perfectly
Scale but what it lacks in looks it makes up for in performance, again I think the same applies to Ninco in general.

The Paris Dakar 205 could be interesting, and the R5 looks great. I could be very tempted to go for the Spirit version rather than the Fly, because it appears to have been designed with non magnet racing in mind.

Interesting that the Marlboro Alesi car has created comment, but not the Belga car. Surely one cigarette brand is the same as another in this context ?

Also interesting is the fact that more and more tobacco logos are appearing on slot cars. The major manufacturers are taking a different line (Ninco Peugeot 307 with the plain Marlboro squares printed over, for example !) to the smaller makes. Spirit and Ninco (for example) are both Spanish producers, so must be subject to the same legislation, so can anyone find a reason for what is happening ?

i hadn't realised that Belga was a cigarette brand! I am now doubly horrified!

..actually it was a little joke / comment on the tabacco issue which we have discussed at the Oxford club.

never-the-less i am happy for cigarette branding to be on my toys, but i would not be happy for them to be on my son's toys. The problem is that he is just starting to play with my slot cars, at the age of 3 years!

as a slight side issue...
I personally am happy to see cigarette advertisements banned from sport, but then, i loathe the 'activity'.

Hi,

is not defined as a toy, the regulation only applies to toys. But, what about Fly (Lancia 037 Martini) and Porsche "Beny Fernandez" (Rothmans livery with decals)?.

Could someone give us an explanation?.

Javier
