I have joined Revell, Airfix and a
Company called Impact International in the same report because all
are relatively small in the amount of News available.
Revell show the biggest promise so I will start with their 1/32
scale RTRs and then move on to the models and finally the oddity
that is fun for kids and interesting side development for those into
slots. |

To be Honest the only car I was
allowed (until next week) to get a close look at was the Greenwood
Corvette.
However, seeing as this release has blown me away I was not too
bothered!
I have included a rough photo or two of the catalogue pics of the
others, that will have to suffice until next week.
Want to see why I am so hooked? pull your eyes onward..

The proportions are great, the
detailing better and the chassis looks nice and low!
As is proving normal, the interior and driver, in particular, are
extremely well detailed and do nothing but add to the look of the
car.

|
Etched detailing really stands out.

The catalogue is oozing with tasty
morsels, though I suspect the NSUs are going to tempt the Germans
more than some of the rest of us.
Whilst the E-types are looking sleek I worry some to see yet
another Company seeming to fall for the Limited Editions fad (6000
worldwide). These don't even look that special, just limited re-liveries with a nice box, which is a shame.
Ho hum, time will tell and they ARE doing some very nice period
figures so maybe we can let them off...
Spares section seems to be growing too and will cover every
release for those of us who run these and lose parts.

On to the Kits for this year, and
apart from the standard 'Easykits', aimed at youngsters and those
wanting trackside cars cheap or an easy way to scratch build or gain
parts stocks, there are more in the range including a lower price
three set and a couple of Rally cars..
ALSO! a nice surprise here too, in the shape of a couple of full
model kits - An Auto Union Type 'D' looking very detailed, and a 'Jaegermeister'
livery Porsche 935.

Looks like we are going to get
spoilt here folks.

|
Aha! almost forgot these
nice looking trackside accessories! Also 1/32 scale and in Easykit
format..

So - onto Airfix news and although there isn't too much, they
have confirmed that they will be re-releasing many old kits and a
few new ones, all in 1/32 scale and specifically aimed at the Slot
fan..
|
|
Here is an early taster.

Lastly we come to the
oddity, which although firmly aimed at youngsters, struck me as a
neat idea so I will share it as it is definitely slot related.
The Company in question is fairly new by the looks of it and go
under the name of 'Impact International'. The range I took pics of
is called 'Hot Trax'.
It is 1/32 scale, the cars are close in detail and looks to Artin
BUT the difference is that they are slot carsm driven by remote
control (battery powered) and can be used as full R/C cars with a
simple removal of the guide..
You will see that the track is Artin like, lacking the metal
runners and is advertised as being totally suitable for outdoors.
They supply crossovers and chicanes (see pics also) that double as
lane changers according to speed. 360 spins are also more than
possible. The cars run well if not lightening fast (not a magnet in
sight!) and with a fair few cars and liveries in the range, I can
see the attraction they are counting on. Sets come with either 20 or
60 feet of track.

Hopefully I can get more to show you over the weekend and am also
pretty sure I have a special Group 5 car livery coming to let
you see.
Enjoy! |
