Hi All,
For reasons that I can't really explain, I rather enjoy collecting & using slot police, marshal, safety and other emergency services cars, and I thought it might be nice to share some photos.
I'd love to see what interesting stuff everyone else has too, so please post pics.

I'll start, rather unimaginatively, with the good old Scalextric Rover 3500 Police cars:

Looks good Steve... Any possibility of sticking a slot chassis under it?

I'm surprised we get so many police cars, but so few Ambulances. I narrowly missed picking up a Bumslot ambulance a few months ago for £15...
It got relisted and went for £40-50. Bummerslot more like!

Hi there all, great thread..

Here is a GMC "tow" truck, that I converted to a slotcar a while back.
It started out as a motorised toy, very accurate to 1:32 scale and has a plastic body (unfortunately the only one I have as yet found)
After detailing the truck further, I mounted it onto a Ninco "Pro Truck" Chassis, so it goes well, great fun to drive.

I have some other photos of other unusual converted and RTR emergency vehicles, that I will post later today.

All the best.. Martin De'Ath

Wow chaps, some really nice stuff there.

Col, It was an Ambulance, but similar to that. A Renault I think.

Cheers,

Hi there all..

Here are a few more Emergency vehicles..

Starting off with the "usual" to the "very unusual" , hope you like them

All the best.. Martin De'Ath.

3 Scalextric Police cars..

Carrera 1:32, Dodge Police car..

Carrera 1:32, Mustang Highway Patrol..

Carrera 1:32, Fire Chief Car..

Carrera 1:32, Plymouth Highway Patrol, a very hard car to find now.

One of my own conversions. A Police Hummer. Started out as a "Toy" car, has a Ninco chassis,motor,wheels/tyres, also has opening doors and full interior.

And the last one. A very "Futuristic" Carrera 1:32 Police car, that was only released in the States.

Wow, Very nice Martin... every time I see a photo of that Plymouth my heart sinks. One day I'll have one!

I took the easy route with the Hummer:

Range Rover Drift Police Car, surprisingly good fun:

Range Rover Coastguard:

...Anyone have any idea why? I'm sure they would have sold more with a different police livery, or race marshal or something. Coastguard?!?

Had the RR Police drift and got rid of it. Drove me bonkers in no time. And had a terrible habbit of falling over when it was shown a corner. But, when you got it right in a flat enough spot it was fun to give it a flick and create an instant road block for the other driver.

That Plymouth B&W definitely needs re-releasing. Maybe Pioneer will do a Roscoe and Enos pair to chase their General.

I'd swap my wife for one of those Plymouths...
Imagine Roscoe & Enos as pace cars, with the General weaving around them. Perhaps Scalextric could add a 'HOT PURSUIT!' race mode to the new APB.

It's the wrong era, but if only they had done this one in true 1:32 scale, then at least we would have had a US cop car for the General to torment:

Picked up this Ninco Corvette Highway Patrol car at the weekend:

which goes nicely with this Carrera Dodge Charger SRT:

Carrera have got the right idea with this one... fancy flashing lights and NO siren. It's a big old thing and it's pretty swift too.
