Hi,heres a couple of 1959 Strombecker slot cars. The black one is a 1932 Ford Coupe. The black Ford has chrome engine & wheels. It is rather rare. The gold car is a 1932 Ford Hot Rod. They both have the 3 1/2 volt Kako motor mounted in front with a 2 piece long shaft. The radiator fan actually turns via a small rubber band !
Its attached to the little motor shaft at the opposite side of the 2 piece drive shaft.Included a closeup of the fan. Thanks,Bernard

They are fantastic, Bernard!

I've never seen them before and what wonderful pieces they are.

Same here Bernard. I've seen most of the other early Strombecker kits converted to slot cars, but never the Hot Rods!

Did you find them like this? Do you have the instructions showing that rubber band fan drive? Maybe just an extra touch by an enthusiastic modeler?

That looks like the model steering too, not the special adapter piece by Strombecker, which I thought was only in white - but I could well be wrong on that!
