Does anyone know of a 1971 or 1972 Road Runner or Charger, can be a slot car or a model kit, but must be in 1/32 scale, I've got both as HO slot cars, but neither seem to be made as 1/32 cars, plenty of earlier Chargers and Road Runners but none of the later car (which is very different to the earlier one)

Hi,

Both Pioneer and Scalextric do the Charger - Scaley did a green Limited Edition for the US and a (dare I say it) Dukes of Hazzard edition. They are releasing a black edition later this year. Pioneer do versions from Bullit, Dukes of Hazzard and more editions are scheduled to be released later this year.

The only make I can think offhand that produced the Plymouth Road Runner was Carrera, in police form; however, I have heard that they are extremely hard to come by. Correct me if I'm wrong.

Cheers,

EDIT: Sorry, I didn't see that you meant the later Charger. Whole post a bit useless :/

Eldon used to do a range of US saloons especially MOPAR's I have a '67 '68 and '69 Charger from them (all a little under scale) but I cant find any record of them doing '71 chargers or road runners, I think your out of luck 'me ol china'. Was this for a Richard Petty thing by any chance Julian?

Did you ever get anywhere with this?

I've been wondering if a Roadrunner would be worth doing, I couldn't find one already made.

What a shame I've also done an earlier Roadrunner which is just like the Carrera one, a Stingray which is just like the Revell one.... my scrap bin is overflowing and I'd rather not make another wrong one

I'm just trying to check there's not one out there already. As soon as I'd done the earlier Roadrunner (but not a moment before) I found lots of people who already make them

I'll keep hunting for a little longer and if nothing comes up I'll see if I can get this one going

Surfaces all stitched together and ready to be printed. Or so I thought... there's still the 1970s rear window louvres so they need to go, but otherwise it looks good

I think the rear lights changed between '71 and '72, is it better to do the 1971 version so it'll be eligible for more racing classes? Funnily enough my Cadillac or Van aren't popular with the racers

The lights and grilles change on every year Roadrunner, make the 1971 car. My experience of Betta Vac -Form car bodies is that they are made for putting on a BRSCA chassis rather than being a scale reprosentation of a car.

I don't think mant of the Betta bodies are to scale width apart from the pre 1970's ones. If you buy them in Plasticard it wouldn't be to different to make to make them narrowerthem narrower
