I decided to build a track seeing as how I now have my own house to put it in.

I race 24th scale nostalgics, eg: late 60's sports cars, stockers and GP's, and this layout should be addequate for testing and getting good setup.
I also race 32 scale Aussie V8's, that is Sunset clear lexan bodies on MJK inline chassis's, Oz Race motor, Ninco running gear with Proslot tyres, it's the same for all, so it's a lot like a one make class except you have the option of Holden or Ford.
I also collect the Vanquish series of cars, due to my love of the Can Am series of the late 60's, early 70's and any Le Mans car of that era aswell, and how good are the F1's they produced? They're all too good to sit on the shelf however, so my friend developed a setup for them that makes them enjoyable to drive but 32 scale tracks are just that little too small for their scale. My track has 140mm slide out and 95mm lane spacing which seems to cover all three scales without making the 32's look small as you can see in the pics.

afternoon all
I finally got a drive on this thing last week.
What a pleasure it was to drive on!
Big Al has been smart enough to not allow tyre treatments on the track ie:CRC 2:23 etc. and that makes it so much nicer to drive on, no digging in and hopping. the cars slide very nicely.
The track has a nice flow to it, but the chicane before the start line can catch you out. The track surface is not too abrasive either
Alan was kind enough to have me round last tuesday night and was the perfect host, Thanks Alan and look forward to next visit

Cheers Lenny

I just had a chat with Big Al and he asked me to tell you that he is currently offline due to cyber sickness in the old pute. he assures me that he will be back on line next week and will post some more piccys then. he has done quite a bit more since the last post so there should be a lot more to see.
Cheers Lenny

Back online at last.
Some new pics for you all.
I'm still working out the webshot link so I hope you guys can veiw my pics. I should be able to update more regularly from now given that all goes well with these lovely little computer viruses that the mindless geeks who generate them seem to think they have something to prove with their pointless lives. (
sorry, a little frustrated as you might of guessed)

BigAl

Not wanting to frustrate you any more, Bigal, but we can't access the link because "you don't appear to be the owner of this album".

And those "mindless geeks" are the lifeblood of the anti-virus companies! Probably on a damn good salary too

Hope all is well now!

Excellent work Al.. It is amazing to see what the "bare bones" track looked like and then to see what a difference scenery makes.. some really nice touches in there.
