1/35 scale track people

Here are the people who will be working, watching, and chatting on my rally track...they are all Tamiya military with insignias shaved off...different heads on some. Some crates, fuel drums, and homemade pipe. I don't remember what brand the hugging couple are (french underground I bought 100 years ago). Probably more people than I need for my 4 x 8 track...

Hopefully I will have time to prime them today...then start painting. I'm still waiting on lumber to finish my track so I'm working on some detailing. I will post pictures after I paint them.

I think you should paint them so they fit to the classic cars.
Their clothes look like they were from the 1970's.

Classic years would have been good...I didn't even think of an era. I just painted them....oops, I guess they would be a combination of eras. The couple are not painted yet...just their faces.

What primer/paint do you use

I used GamesWorkshop White for primer...Of course that brings out all the details and errr the mold lines, which I'm too lazy to get rid of. For paint I used Walmart 88 cent acrylic paint. It works well and there are tons of colors.

For the wash I used Burnt Sienna mixed with FUTURE floor polish...first time. Seemed to work pretty good.

Yes they are 1/35 scale...Tamiya figures...pretty wide assortment of figures. Easily converted. The crates are tank shell crates, that came with the guys that load the tank. The fuel drums and gas cans where one package. The bike guy came in his own package.

Great pics!! I was worried if there would be a noticible difference in the 1/32 and 1/35 scale...but they blend right in. COOL!!

Nice figs! I hope to populate my layout eventually, and I will keep in mind that 1/35 blends in nicely.

But, in future, could you please reduce the sizes of your pictures? I know that the bigger they are, the more detail shown, but huge pictures are killers for those of us still on dial-up.

Here are a few finished pictures...I made these smaller...I know how the dial-up thing is because I'm dial-up too.

Now I just need to finish my track and place them

Next I'll have to build a bigger track, so I can have more PEOPLE!!

First of all..."what livery of kitty"....holy crap that's freakin' funny.

Secondly the difference in size of 1/32 and 1/35 scale isn't that great that it will matter much, because as was pointed out, people come in all sizes. Also on the issue of scale and people, the Preiser people that I have, are about 7.5 feet tall really, they are close to the SCX people I have, but they still look just fine all together.

The pose and "rhythm" of these guys is fantastic. I know part of it is purely Tamiya, but part of it is dacosta. Congratulations on a fine job.

As a military modeler, I can see the Wehrmacht peeking through. I think those guys are all named Hans.

Now, why the heck did Tamiya standardize on 1/35 scale?
