As per title. Id like to see all the fantasy entries. I'm planning one but I don't have time to get it ready for this year.
(That's part of the reason I'm not entering)

The Aussies have had a sneak peek of mine, but I'm sure it'll look much better when fully reassembled. So, it'll be unveiled to the world in a couple of days. One more shot of clear and a quick polish to go. Hopefully by Sunday you will see it in all it's gory.

Heres a few pics of mine.
Gave it a test run the other day, those motors are sooo slooowww!
But I'm pleased with the handling, but still not expecting much as this is my 1st proxy rally.

A few pics of my team GB C4. Very inspired by all the olympics junk going around, the decals are off a hornby camaro kit and a 1/24 ferrari F1 kit. They seemed to work.

the paint needs some little touch ups but i see the car getting some punishment so a perfect finish wasnt my number 1 priority.

Well. It's Sunday here and as promised, here's the Lancer back together again (mostly). Apologies for way too many photos of it, but I was quite chuffed with the results. If only she'd drive as well...

Paint colours are Tamiya white (TS26) and dark blue (TS55). Decals designed by me and printed by Mr Kalbfell. Thank you Phil. Interior is unchanged with the exception of a quick lick of gold paint on the helmets. A couple of minor touches still to do and then I'll shoot the lot with yet another coat of clear. I've lost track of the number of coats it's hard so far, but it still doesn't seem to be enough. And there's another doohicky to go back on the roof when I find it. I was trimming a tiny bit of excess paint off it's pin this morn and dropped it. Haven't managed to find it in the carpet yet after a half hour or so on hands and knees searching.

I'm going to send some photos of the car to Dru Reschke, the winery owner, with a brief explanation of the series.

Cheers
Embs

Gary, I'm up to two reliveries. This makes the third. One road car. One car running in the current Ozrally Proxy. And this one. It possibly does help that I do occasionally get to do this sort of thing on 1:1 cars though.

Don't give up yet Graham, its all about choice, someone may come up with a work of art . As a colour blind person I suspect that lime green and purple sparkle may clash yet my children assure me its the latest colour way to be seen in...the jury is out! Gary

I don't know about purple and lime being all that new. There was an XA Falcon raced in Aust Touring Car Class in the 70s that was Wild Purple and Lime Glaze. Very tasty.

It was said by way of a compliment. Who said anything about giving up?

Going by the standard I've seen here, there will be little point in me doing my own for my entry next year. I'm really no good at painting, and I'm having great difficulty producing the decals. I think I'll end-up outsourcing.

Thanks lads.

I've really not done a lot of repainting. And this is certainly my first 2 colour job. Tamiya is great and easy to use, but if you look really closely at it there are a couple of bits of blue spray on the white areas in unexpected places. It really only requires the patience to wait for the paint to dry.

Applying decals is something that I'd never really done before I tackled the C2 street car repaint (there's a thread here. Little green frog or something like that) I actually learned a huge amount doing the TeamSlot Celica which is running in the current OzRally. I really struggled with them and finished up doing the decals about 3 times. I got Phil to print these decals for me rather than doing them myself because they are largely white and gold. But I made sure I had enough decals to do 3 cars just in case I had problems. As it was I only wasted one angel, but I did re-design a little to make sure I didn't have to go completely over the door handles. Piping hot water and Micro-sol and Micro-set are a must.

Painting, like anything, takes practice.

Would it help you all if I told you the Lancer currently runs like an amputee dog?
