Due to my era of interest a lot of cars I want to build incorporate bonnet straps. Here's a quick and easy way of making these that i currently use...

I cut two strips of self adhesive inkjet paper (left over from making sponsers boarding on my piststop),

I cut a vee shape in one end of one strip to simulate the end of the strap and fold over...

I cut off a small piece of backing paper from the other strip and stick together...

I cut a thinner strip for the buckle and wrap around the folded piece ( a piece of bare metal foil could be used after painting)...

I added a couple of buckle holes and a test fit before painting...

I Cellotaped the assembly to a piece old newspaper to help with handling when painting and here's the finish piece ready to cut to length a glue to the car....

Not rocket science I know, but my model making skills are limited and I've tried all sorts of ways before coming up with this one so may be of use to somebody.

Regards,
MAF

Thanks,

Here's the finished car with bonnet straps...

Straps applied with double sided tape which sticks very well, without any mess.
