Sheesh, them Ferraris are out for a C5 scalp in LM GTS.

How long do we think that Lister will last?

Thanks for the list Wankel

Can't wait for the event. I can taste the Stella now!.

Will the Lister make the start?....Will the UK Audi carry a spare can of petrol?.....Will the TVR and Morgan have a Competition to see who can exit the race first?.

Hope the weather is as good as last year.

Regards

Will you be going along this year Wankel? I wonder if there will be a good SF turnout - I'll be going and so will 250 GTO. I hope the Zonda lasts a bit longer this year too. It sounded fantastic last time. Might see you there, BeeJay!

I just hope somebody, anyboy beats the Audis. Doubt it will be the Lister.

I am dithering about going becasue my step-sons have exams and not exact dates as yet. Had promised myself the Classic Le Mans instead, but if there are a few SF guys there...

Can we get a track running in the camp site? How about pooling all that Carrera stuff we ended up with after buying the Argos discounted sets to get Bentleys and the last losing Audi? Could be more enteratinly than the real race.

If anyone does want to meet up I'm game.

I'm taking my trusty (hopefully!) Healey, travelling with another two Healeys of dubious parentage, a TR4a( shouldn't be allowed!), TR8 Wedggie thingie, Range Rover, a strange kit car, and a Winnibago....

We will have the Ex-Army display tent and the pool with us, not sure where we are camping this year as I didn't make the bookings.

We usually can be found near the Hawiian Tropic girls!....

All are welcome for a beer.

Regards

Can't see me being there this year unless I win the pools.

I soooo want to drive down sometime.

[Digression]
Last time I went we flew in. Now I'm not big on defying the laws of nature and flying, and the fact that prior to take off some of us had been asked to move to the back of the plane to trim it did concern me a tad. Nothing like the concern I had when on final approach, undercarriage down and flaps all ready, the pilot gunned the thing and flew around the block.

"Holy cow!", I thought.

"Parp", I thought.

"Damn kite couldn't take off properly and now she can't land!"

Turned out the sweet little French air traffic controller had forgotten the aircraft taking off on the runway we landing on but our pilot noticed it in time. Bless.

With no tent and no grandstand pass I spent the next 24hrs dodging the rain.

[Understatement]
I think 2001 is down as a wet race.

Oh, must go again soon.

Yes, the Panoz is the old GT1. It was already raced at the Le Mans 1000 km at the end of last year and at Sebring this year as well (run by the DAMS outfit).

There was also a Lotus Elise GT1 at Sebring. In terms of speed and reliability, they couldn't have choosen a worse GT1 !

Regarding FLY producing the 550, I'm confident they would if they could but it's a Ferrari ... I will already be happy if Proslot makes a true racing version of their 360 ...

A few of us went to Le Mans last year was it hot or was it hot! I have never drunk so much water in my life.

We watched the Hawaiin Tropic girls during the build up to the race, here's a picture I took of them - I didn't get any closer they scared me.

Could this be the reason why Frank Biela "forgot" to make his pit stop ?

Mark,

Regarding the Maranello, Carrera will be doing the 575, not the Prodrive 550. Too bad, the 550 looks prettier ... Anyway, I would have loved to get both and I'm quite relieved to get at least the 575 ...

The 550 is the one - I've got the top slot 550 (Olive Garden livery (I thibk it looks stunning) and I placed an order for one from Milan but I've also got the Carerra 575 coming my way when its out.

Other news about Le Mans and the 550 - a certain Mr McCrash has just signed up to race a Prodrive 550. A Colin MaCrae sereis would make quite a nice collection of slot cars: Subaru Impreza, Ford Focus, Citroan Xsara (all WRC), ASCAR (one race), Paris Dakar 2004 and Ferrari 550 Prodrive Le Mans 2004

When the Toyota GT-One programme was running Carlos Sainz tested the car and was on the pace. He couldn't do the race that year and obviously he then left to go to Ford, but you could easily imagine him bringing the car home in one piece.

Not a bet I'd like to place for my countryman. Still, another finish line smashed up special for FLY perhaps.

QUOTE It's the work of a Canadian ...

How is it that somehow, I am not surprised... Is the tow vehicle an air-cooled VW bus by any chance?
