Hello everyone,

It is time to announce the registration process for the 7th edition of the DiSCA Le Mans 24 hours.

The dates for the race will be 24th-25th March 2018. Unfortunately these dates coincide with the changing of clocks for British Summer Time at 00:00 Sunday. Therefore the race will start at 15:00 Saturday and the chequered fled will fall at 16:00 Sunday. Please consider this when making travel arrangements.

Eligible cars for this year's event will be LMP cars 2009-2017 and GT cars 2012-2017 that have race in the Le Mans 24 hours during the period. For a comprehensive list, click here for a presentation courtesy of Stryker Racing.

There are no changes to the WEC technical formula, other than to facilitate the narrower LM P2 category cars at a width of 62.5mm.

Your choice of car must be specified at the time of registration, but may be changed up until the final payment is made prior to January 31st.

How to register:

The registration form can be accessed by following the following link;
https://goo.gl/forms/R9mihmG6r38i1DkX2

While the form is online now, it will not be accepting responses until Saturday 23rd September from 11:00 GMT.

Entry fees

The entry fee is £225.00 with a deposit of £25.00 required at the time of registration to secure a place. The entry form does not contain a checkout and all payments must be made manually. Details are provided on the form.

As of 2018 the Le Mans support race is to be discontinued. Instead we look forward to the return of a three hour Friday qualifying session for Le Mans cars to include live tech. Please consult the schedule provided in the sporting regulations for the timetable in full.

A3 format copies of the event poster are available on request.

We will be happy to answer any questions about the race. You can reach us through SlotForum, through social media using the handle officialdisca, via our website officialdisca.com or email [email protected] Best of luck to those wishing to register and we look forward to your entry!

I can now reveal the official entry list of 16 cars bolstered by 4 registered reserves.

I'd like to extend our gratitude for the support of the slot racing community for this event and take the chance to say best wishes to all. The entry form is now closed, but in the case that any reserve teams are admitted it will be re-opened in order to allow any vacant spaces to be filled.

Hello everyone,

UPDATES AND NEWS

Since last comms we've been subjected by another cancellation from first-timers Brama Slot Club. The withdrawal of their Nissan Nismo GTR-LM from the P1 category shrinks the entry list to just 12 cars which is the fewest ever equal to the second running of the race in 2012. It's been a huge disappointment for the organising team to see a total of nine teams cancel the entry or reserve space but it's just ben one of those years as in several cases circumstances just can't be helped. The one upside is we have a nicely balanced grid with 4 cars in each category, encouraging everyone to give it their best shot for a chance at the silverware, which of course is awarded to the top three placing teams in each category. And if that's not enough we also have the traditional awards for pole position, the winner of the Concours d'Elegance and for the Spirit of Le Mans.

Prior to the 24hrs, Rockingham Slot Car Club have just announced that they are hosting a shakedown event on their Spa-Franchochamps layout on Sunday 18th March. Further details: http://www.slotforum.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=177498

I highly recommend any local teams / drivers take advantage of this session to update firmware in ALL of your chips! That includes any spares and not just the one in your race car

Firmware levels will be confirmed in your final instructions which will be issued this Wednesday, along with other useful information about the event running 23rd-25th March in Henley In Arden.

Build Photos

The driver's group on facebook is starting to fill up with build photos from busy mechanics. Alibaba Slotshop and Red Dragon Racing are the latest to share photos of their machinery, while Rockingham are busy testing suspension settings.

If any international drivers are flying into East Midlands Airport on Friday morning and are concerned that their transport from the airport to Henley-in-Arden may be at risk (snow or whatever), feel free to contact me before Friday morning and I can collect you from that airport en-route to Henley.

I popped in earlier and stuck around for the first 1 1/2 hours of racing.

I'm amazed at how quietly your cars can run.

Although my kids appeared disinterested and spent the time getting muddy outside, they did pester me somewhat to build a car and run a team next year...LOL

Now there's an idea.....if only I could find some team mates.

Thanks for coming twigman and glad you enjoyed what you saw.

Anyone wondering where all the info is, its facebook and Twitter look for Officialdisca

DitSlot i3D are currently leading with their Ford GT (!) ahead of Rockinghams Toyota and SRfHolland Corvette. LMP2 is being lead by Demon slot who are 6th overall.

Final third of the race :)
