You'll find postage within the UK pretty outrageous too. Also be aware that some of their bodies are not to 1:32 scale if that matters to you.

You might have guessed that I'm not too impressed.

Cheers

Having looked at the site Mike refers to I would NOT buy from them as there is no contact address or phone number. Golden rule of internet purchases, make sure you know who your dealing with in case of a problem.

If the owner see this please put proper contact details up as I want a Lotus Europa.

I thought most people knew that the site is owned by Adrian Norman, Scalextric's product manager! I think you might find him a reliable seller. He is the sole distributor for AA bodies in the U.K.

The guy who makes them is Dave Yerbury and he isn't keen on t'interweb. I can provide his contact details if anybody wants to contact him direct.

Over the last three years I got 25+ shells from Adrian and never had anything to complain about. On the contrary....

Hi, I deal with AA Bodies a lot and always find Dave Yerbury very helpfull.
I buy fro him direct and his serivice is second to none. I can supply contact details if required.
His fiberglas bodies do require a small amount of work but he produces cars which are not available alswhere.
I would recomend giving his bodies a try.

Is it Adrian or Dave...I have a few AA bodies bought from other enthusiasts.
I have never dealt directly with them so any info would be of assistance.

Guys,
I think you'll find that the two larger scale cars are the two Can-Am cars BRM & March which Dave did I believe to match the the short lived MG Vanquish ranges scale i.e. 1/28th. I have built a fair few of his 1/32nd shells up and as Eddie rightly says all are within compliance of the 1/32nd scale +/- 2mm tolerance allowed in most historic type slot meetings. True AA Bodies like Betta & Classic take a bit more effort to prep and paint and for racing you have to dremmel out a fair bit of weight but they are significantly cheaper than many other resin shells, very robust being fibreglass rather than just resin, and cover many historic cars we just wouldn't see otherwise.
For example how many slot body manufacturers would do the 1955 Frazer-Nash Sebring? This is one I knocked up in 4 days for the recent MRE Pre-60 Le Mans Classic at Wolves it is perfect to scale compared to the official dimensions for the real car and scored decent points from the concours judges so it wasn't too shabby allowing for the quick build time.

If you want an Easy to build shelf queen then maybe these arent for you but if you are prepared to put in a bit of effort they can be very rewarding and Dave Yerbury is a great bloke and I've always found him a pleasure to deal with and gives prompt helpful, service.

Cheers
Phil
