Well so far so good. I only broke two 1/8" end mills on the prototype and thats pretty good for me. unfortunately I crashed it into the front axle boss so the chassis is unusable. It fits the body well but I need to do a little tweaking on the rear section. Here's some pictures in the different stages.

Block of 6061 loaded in my rotary indexer ready to start.

After the first roughing pass on the bottom. Sorry it's out of focus.

After the finish pases and the guide and body mount screw pockets

And like magic it's done! Ok I missed a few steps on the pics but I was busy writing code.

Here's the finished product. i have to fix the code on the guide flag hole

Really professional work, I´m impressed. I wish I had access to that kind of tooling machinery.

Cheers

Realistically the only thing that can be reused are the front wheels and the driveshaft spring. I don't recommend reusing drive shaft springs so I guess it's jut the wheels.
I feel that the fly stuff is not that great when compared to BWA, Slotit etc.

derek

QUOTE (John Schoen @ 24 Oct 2004, 20:00)That looks outstanding.
Which old Fly parts have to be changed to use it?

So if I wanted to seriously kit out my Lister I could buy a Slot It: Rear Axle set, 2 hubs as I already have 2, 25K motor. I havent tried silicone wires and dont know how to fit them into the guide-would you be able to do that for me? The driveshaft would fit onto the SIMX04 with the spring and pionion but can you recommend any alternatives?
