2 in 1/43rd scale, made by SRM.
The 246 Dino is a bit rough but really hard to find, the later Aero has weird plastic drive shafts.

I think this is a Classic shell, built in the 60s by the unknown scratchbuilder all I added is the windscreen.

The green one and the yellow one are by Bob Braverman, the red one by Auto Hobbies

How to turn a pretty car into an ugly one, and then paint it the dullest green on earth! The one and only low line GTO.

What price a colour version of that picture?

There should be a thread for pictures like this one. Everything about it screams "I wish I'd been there". The Esso tanker was released by Dinky I think.

Let's return to slotcars, earlier I showed pictures of bodies entirely built out of metal or out of plasticard, here are a couple built out of wood.
A bit of a crude Shark nose

Much nicer but sadly underscale 250TR

1/24th Adams and Sons RTR 275P, made up of a Monogram body fitted to their MK2 chassis
This car is rather rare and usually expensive, but I was lucky enough to smuggle that one out of eBay for a very reasonable price whilst the proper collectors weren't looking.

As this thread is about Ferraris themselves, I don't normally show chassis, but this one is worth looking at. The perfect definition of the "beautiful loser".

Let's start the day with a few P3/4
I guess many people in the 1/32nd forum are not used to vacform bodies, some might even intensely dislike them. I used to, and used to laugh at the SRS bodies one could find. until one day I saw this car going cheaply at a swapmeet, and I realised that the good ones can be made to look really nice.
This is at least as nice as the contemporary Scalex P4.

Here are a few of its mates loitering in my collection. The first one is by MRRC the others??

I now appreciate the SRS cars, but didn't before. Now I tolerate proper pancakes in my collection, but I wouldn't race them.
Anyway, back to P3/4s, all 1/24th
First one with a slightly thingyfied (is that a word?) body, made by Riggen (great colour)

Unknown one but probably UK made, a bit of a favorite, painted by the unknown scratchbuilder.

The P2 was very popular with slotcar makers in the 60s

Little known Japanese brand Climax (Would have gone down a storm in the UK)

The unknown scratchbuilder strikes again, 2 I got in a large joblot around 10 years ago, both with Dynamic chassis.
bodies are Lancer or Pactra.

Just to make sure you guys don't think I only like cra**yold stuff, here are some modern ones I race regularly.
First my regular ride in SSRCs "modified GT" class
Repainted Ninco 360 fitted with the standard chassis which is now more superglue gel than plastic. Bought second hand 12 years ago, still quite competitive after all that time.

1964 250 Lusso for me, but based on racing pedigree most people will chose the 250GTO.

2 static F1s build from slot vacform bodies, the guy added loads of great details.

I have always admired the work of the unknown people who back in the 60s managed to build wonderful cars without all of the resources that we now have. Over the years, I have amassed a reasonable collection of vintage scratchbuilt cars.

312 T3 by Carrera

Hawk D50, actually quite hard to find.

In 1/24th Strombecker 158, even harder to find than the Hawk kit.

American company Atlas released a 158 too, but it was in fact made in Japan by Marusan, and also released by Faller of Germany. (all 3 in 1 shot0

Here is a resin 312P body made a long time ago under the name of Lesco100 (They made the coupe version too) I don't who they were/are, but to my eyes, it's the nicest 312P available. Mine is fitted with a Riko chassis.

Not sure what would be easiest, I think the real car was a re-bodied 312P in which case is would be bigger then either the PB or the Chevron.
It ended up looking like this.

I might do the first version, as a project for this year.
