Among all my bucket list projects is the create some 1/24 Shelby Can Am slot cars as raced in South Africa.

After looking around, I am considering the 1/32 Scalextric generic LMP as a basis with necessary body mods as a basis, since the 1:1 Shelby was diminitutive as compared to a 1:1 LMP car.

Plus the Scaly car is not spendy.

What do you fellers think?

Looks doable, although maybe a used Lola body also from Scaley might work better…

I think there are many example of LMP cars with open cockpit that you can use without doing too much chopping. And they are not expensive especially if you buy second hand.

If not, the Scaleauto Radical LMP is a closer resemblance to your subject in my opinion. Whether it will be as easy or inexpensive to acquire as that Scalextric may be a different story..
