A Porsche thread

I've harboured passion for Porsche's way of doing things down many decades, and continue to marvel at the many Porsche slot cars we can buy, or build, that make our hobby such an enormously interesting pleasure.

This thread, I hope, will result in 'everything' Porsche - your models, photographs, memories and yarns. And anything else, of course.

All contributions will be of great interest, as usual, and I, therefore, thank you in advance.

A few pics below to start the ball rolling.

A very colourful and busy Speedster. Very Panamericana. Lovely, 356.

Here are the Le Mans winners from 1984 and 1985 compared. Apart from Pierlant motifs, there are also differences between the BP transfers.

A 1:24 slot version of the 1984 car with a Tamiya body, and a size comparison with the 1:32-scale car from Slot It.

Ah, joy. Whilst searching for the large-scale New Man 956 (pictured above) earlier today, I also found the second of my two Carrera 1:24 906s. Been wondering for months where it might be so, thanks, Daniel, again.

A nice model even the lights still work.

A daubing of the Dunlop bridge, Daniel. I really don't think it would be too difficult to make one from cardboard and/or paper.

I think Scalextric tried to recreate the Dunlop bridge in the 60s. Nice pair of 1/24 cars, the 956 looks great in the New Man livery.

Just had a few laps with the 906. Needs new tyres but goes OK.

Dunlop bridge with a Porsche to stay on topic 😇

This is the same bridge that you may have seen in some of my videos on the Airfix layout, it's 1/40th scale Jouef but was designed to cover four lanes so works well with two lane 1/32nd scale track

Always wanted to build my track as a Lemans style track(but very, very small🙂), but with the modern Style, thus having the Dunlop bridge is a must, and although I have the old style bridge sold by Scaley, I’d like to have a modern one, I read some posts here that look interesting that show good builds by some members, maybe with the Christmas holiday I can give it a shot to build one. Thanks everybody!

Currently getting my dose of Scandinavia noire. Anyone else watched the bridge and enjoyed Saga, or rather Saga’s nice classic 911 . Tho seems quite impractical as a detective car in Sweden

Your post above has intrigued me. A little cryptic for an old duffer like me. Is it a programme on the electric television apparatus that you might recommend, please? If so, where might it be found, please?
It greatly amuses me these days that a massive jackpot lottery win of, for example, £150 millions, isn' t sufficient to buy my top five cars designed by Porsche. Daunting.

My old slotting chum, Nicholas, and I often discuss our top 5 racing cars, racing bikes, aeroplanes, boats, impressionist paintings, sculptures, manufacturers of pies, chip shops, clocks, watches, fountain pens, agreeable people, disagreeable people, and the rest.

Your views, chaps? Could you buy 'appiness with £150 millions? Daft question but ne'er mind.
Yes, as I can quit work, have a longer track and buy lots more slot cars.

May be not happiness but a least a house with a room big enough to build a full scale track or 2 or 3 and complete my collections in double quick time

My Dunlop bridge is a champion one, picked up around 1990 at the Donnington toy fair,£3 I seem to remember.
The Dunlop bridge after the pits moved to its present position in I think 1965 to be replaced by twin tunnels .
