I've got 4 SCX ( sorry Moped
) and one Reprotec Abarths.

I run them non magnet on Scalex Sport track.

For something different, they are a great car. Quite fast, with lights blazing, there is nothing else like them. I just hope SCX make more of these beauties.

Does anyone else
these cars or do you
hate them with a passion?

At the local hobby shop where I race, they have a special league for these cars. They are run with magnets on a 25m Ninco track and go like the wind. The only thing is their lights are not working all the time. After a crash the light are off and after the next crash they are back on. Here in SA it is a bit of a mission to get the ones other the Tissot ones. I would like the Gulf one like you're showing in the pic.

Reprotec, SCX, they're great.

Funnily enough, I've just driven past the Abarth specialist in Middle Barton; looks like he's got a few of the 1:1s for sale.

I have a couple of those, and two of the SEAT 600's ( I think ) that SCX made in their classic series. I run them without magnet too, and after sanding the tyres to make them round, I think they are an absolute blast

Always worth a few good laughs as the swish and sway around the track.

Yeah, these little cars are great!
I prefer running them without magnet tho, more "tail action"! Just one thing that I think is quite odd about the SCX version -Xenon effect lights on such an old school racer isn't the most appropriate, is it??
I'd rather the headlights be amber and maybe a little dimmer.

have four of the reprotech abarths. run with or without magnet. great cars. have built 1/43 gtp cars, heller made jaguar/mercedes/porsche, onto the chassis. had a blast with those as well.
also for very small 1/32 cars the chassis works. sprites, minis, and others of like size.

I have two of the SCX models, they are so much fun without the magnet and some lead on each side. I would love to find the Tissot car as well. I have the Gulf and the red #69.

I like 'em but I wish someone made an Abarth Carrera Porsche...

I've read nothing but surprised praise for this ugly/cute little car. That makes it a good buy in my book.

Great to see folks widening the range of their racing collections and enjoying the experience...grab those Pinkkar Beetles and Scalex Caterhams for added fun!
