At Mussel Bay we have a computer screen in front of the drivers which is linked to the race control system. It provides the 5 red light starting sequence complete with Murray Walker's voice - "1 light! 2 lights!..............Go! Go! Go!"
The time between the 5th light and start varies from 1 second to 9 at random. Jump starts incur a 1 lap penalty so not many people do it.
I hold the record for the best jump start - went on the 2nd red and managed to get all the way round before the actual start! We also have the occasional Murray Walker impersonator who says "Go!" and everybody falls for it leading to a restart.
