I was wondering if anyone had tried to add their own images to the RMS system? - e.g. images of fly, ninco and scx cars.

I have downloaded the cars available on scalextric's website, but probably like quite a few people my slot car collection is made up of plenty of other manufacturers.

I mean I have access to a digital camera, photoshop etc - so shooting the cars will be no problem, but I thought I would ask before I have a crack at adding them to RMS.

Cheers,

Mark

I've done it!

Its well easy really.

Take your shot, you then need to re-size it and save it as a bitmap (.BMP). Then, copy the file to the 'cars' folder in the programms directory, you'll be able to upload it from then once the programme has started.

Hope thats clear, any problems give me a shout and i'll get you some screenshots.

BTW: You can get all the Scalextric images here: Scalextric.co.uk

You can get a downloadable image by typing: http://www.scalextric.co.uk/SportRMS/RefN°.bmp

So for example, typing http://www.scalextric.co.uk/SportRMS/C8157.bmp gets you this:

To get the Car data, replace the .bmp with .dat. Save the info and add it to your cars.dat file in the C:\Program Files\Scalextric Sport RMS\data directory.

http://www.scalextric.co.uk/SportRMS/C8157.dat gives you get this:

"Mercedes CLK DTM",0,"Silver Safety Car","",4,"C8157","c8157.bmp",100,"141","81","89",0,1

Remember that there is a limit of 150 cars in the RMS library.

QUOTE (gecko @ 21 Oct 2004, 20:59)...However the Challenger Pace Car is available when you go through the download options actually inside the RMS Software...

I realise this - it was an example, but you can do it allot quicker by batch downloading them. In the same way you can add other cars by creating bitmaps of the same size and data entries to your cars.dat file.
