Fantastic! The GT40s always missed having working lights at all, its great to see it with working brake lights!

On the GT40 in the xbox game Forza, the top and bottom lights seem to be wired together so they both come on together... but I am not sure whether this is correct or not.

Accepting Mr Flippants points about the practical difficulties of soldering to the pins of these tiny chips, does the Easyfit DPR chip have the same functionality? It has a similar looking HRN/ST chip on the underside of the board:

Has anyone tried taking brake lights from the relevant pins of one of these?

Well front and regular rear lights can be wired from the guide; if you want seperate brake lights you just have the one horribly difficult solder to do. It looks feasible in the picture but in real life I can hardly see the seperate pins!

If you want rear lights that get brighter when you brake, usually you would need to use the HL too. But I was wondering if the +5v pad could be used instead of HL, even though it is a different pin.
