Hello,

I've been trying to get a couple of Mega G (non plus, the ones without the can motor) chassis, but I've been unable to find any, and if I did it was way more than what I'm willing to pay.

Does anyone know where I could find one or two Mega Gs at a reasonable price?

Mega G cars have become hard to find, Scale Auto still has some listed in the AFX section. The cars that are listed are all the short wheelbase ones. Scale Auto also has most of the service parts

I wrote to them and they say their website is outdated, thay they don't have any in stock. In case they had they'll put it on eBay.

JAG Hobbies makes there own versions of the Mega G chassis. They have long and short wheel base versions. I have quite a few and they work very well.
I looked at that one, but they don't have a 1.5" version, just the 1.7".

It's not the end of the world though, I just wanted one or two out of curiosity. I don't like the newer ones with the can motor and the PCB. If I want something modern I'll just stick with the Bulldog and the SG+ based ones, the new Super-7 and I'll definitely try the soon to be released chassis from Dash.

I only have one Mega G car, I bought it for evaluation purposes and since my club does not race them I did not buy any more. I believe that when Racemasters took over the Tomy line of HO stuff they wanted to have a new, more compact chassis that could be used with modern open wheel and open sports racing cars. The result of that was the Mega G, which is slightly compromised with respect to performance if you compare it to the earlier Tomy Super G+ cars.
If Racemasters wanted to sell their stuff at regular retailers they would have to conform to the latest child safety and RFI standards, hence the Mega G+ cars. The Mega Gs were made from 2007 to 2015 , but they seem to be very scarce today.

I didn't realize that the production run for the Mega G was so short. When I got back into the hobby they were still widely available but were a bit expensive in comparison to other chassis like the Turbo or 440x2.

The only advantage I see of the MG/MG+ is the more realistic and beautiful bodies available, but they seem to be more limited in every sense.

Agreed, Unless you're brand obsessed, Jag has their own version of the snarling little beasts ... along with plenty of spares. Looks like they use the basic internals as a base for several of their platforms.

The Mega Gee Whizz is a good stable chassis, but it's utterly tamper proofed,so very little can be done with them by the average tuner. Crooked axles goof the wheels, and low grade skins dont help. You'll throw a few bux at them, and they'll still be tamperproof.

Glock,

These chassis are being bid on at Ebash for about the $20 to $30 mark. What did you want to pay for a Mega G?
I don't have any Mega G, I wanted to buy one but they are either not-to-be-found or too pricey for what i'm willing to pay to satisfy my curiosity. I want one with a 1.5" wheelbase. Those auctions you mention are several days away, they may start at $30 but end around a $100 or more.
