Which sort of Mura C can do you have?

The position of the two fixing hole is the same in all C cans.
The outside diameter of the can bearing locates in the U bracket. Over the year there have been 3 different sizes of bearing used in C cans - 0.25 inch (6,35mm), 6 mm and 5mm outside diameter. More modern ones are 5mm od, so a U bracket made for modern C cans won't fit older motors unless the hole is opened out to fit the larger bearing.

The outside dimensions of the can are slightly different on some cans, many modern types of C cans use thinner metal which usually means slightly smaller outside dimensions. In theory this means the U bracket centre height needs to be slightly different to get the bottom of everything perfectly flat, in many cases the differance is too small to worry about

Thanks for the replies guys i appreciate it.

I do not have the C can yet but it will be a period two hole C can.
Ordered 5 of the Professor motor brackets as they helped me very well in the past, can always widen the hole if needed.

Bigtone,

That SCD also looks fantastic where can one get them?
A proper beef bracket.

A motor bracket made to fit FK type motors, such as the BWA, PM, or others, will also fit a 6 mm OD bushing used on some C & D cans. I don't recall seeing an inline motor bracket in the US made for a 5 mm OD bushing, but they may exist. The SCD bracket someone showed a photo of appears to be a BWA bracket.

They are by far the best out there.

I have now 5 of these beefy brackets and will build some nice chassis with them.

Thanks Al for creating such a wonderful product

Sweet chassis Jmsh54,

looks like it can take a bang.

Andre,

Thanks anyways.

i reinforced it with piano wire but thanks for the heads up.
