OK, here's a thread about cars known more by their numbers than by the manufacturer's name.

Kicking off with the two starters mentioned elsewhere :-

Wasn't 1093 a rebore capacity? :)
Or was that 1293?? :) :)
IIRC I think it was a 1071 with a 40 thou rebore so it would still compete in the 1100 cc class. The 1293 was a similar exercise.

I've been a car person for over 70 years and recognised most of these. My son who is 34 could get about one third. We agreed that the best known pure number is 911.
