A couple of months ago, Ostorero announced the 'NEW OSTORERO SLOT' range.

They have a new partner for this venture and it was decided to create a new brand 'ALLSLOTCAR', specialised in plastic competition slot cars. Of course the Ostorero brand stays alive and a new livery of an existing car will be revealed soon.

At the moment they are working very hard on a new website: www.allslotcar.com. Which should be online within a couple of days.

Scheduled release date is second half of October or beginning of November the latest.

The Formula GP features a chassis in 2 parts (main chassis and motormount).

Racers will have a choice between 3 different suspension kits (sold as spares). Other features: long can 22000 rpm motor, 8t pinion, 26t inline crown gear, aluminium wheels front and back. A 9 & 10t pinion and 24 & 25t crown gear will be available as spares.

Like previously announced, the car will come in white, giving everybody the opportunity to create their own livery.

Track test impressions will follow asap!

Excellant another F1 car to try. I take it this will be 1/32 scale by the look of the images.

The pod looks interesting, hope the chassis is nice and stiff do we know if this car is constructed to run on plastic or timer tracks?

Gears and wheels are they from and established brand or purpose built.

Please keep us up to date on this one please.

Looks like it should work really well. Shame that it will be only one body just with different decals, but the tooling costs are probably prohibitive. Looks more like a GP2 car

Thing is,how much will it cost? Racer's Sideways cars are much cheaper than their other products-"Allslotcar" need to adopt a similar policy for me to buy.....

Hello Lennart,

thanks for your interest to our model !

At the moment we are doing the final adjustment on the test car, that I suppose you saw in photo, and than we will prepare to produce it. I hope the models will be available in a couple of months, and the final cost will be similar to all plastic cars on market.

However we will update all these details during this time on the slotforum along the world.

Thank you and best regards

Gianluca Ostorero

the chassis looks to be pretty standard, so it should go well. the cost, so i,m led to believe will be in the slot it-nsr range. if they can keep the pricedown, for a generic body white kit, they should sell well. if its in the nsr price range its a non starter for me. john

I think that this a great idea for those whom want to race F1 type cars.

We have a class at our club which would do well from some decent cars

Look forward to a review of the finished article.

This seems an ideal way of expanding an F1 fleet to include some of the smaller teams not marketed by Scalextric, Carrera etc. Could any decals included in the kit be for teams like HRT, Myrussia, Sauber or Force India? Where would someone like me (who paints like a lobster with blisters) get a model painted to a decent standard?

theirs no decals included with the kit, so thats another £7-£10+ paint. it would be a nice gesture to include a decal sheet with a few numbers and stripes on, i,m still waiting for the Ostorero brothers to come up with a price. they must know, its due for release soon. over to you ALLSLOTCARS.john

One of the earlier press releases said they would include decals, different versions to represent different cars

I wish Ostorero all the success with this elegant idea and I hope it turns out good for them. I am sure racers will pick these up and maybe even a couple of clubs will introduce them in new racing series. I hope there will be enough spare parts available because open wheel racing in 1:32 can be a destructive as in real racing.

A body kit only is basically a good idea to keep costs low but it has huge disadvantages.

First the fact that one has to put them together and paint and decal them will not charm everybody. Many of the guys I know like 'ready to run' bodies/cars, they don't like the painting and glue-ing at all and some of them (or is it most of them) don't even have the skills. Let's face it, the modelers are a minority in the slot racing world and only a few of them are good enough to sell their work for good value. Off course this can be overcome with the help of club members and friends but it will sure turn off a lot of potential buyers.

Secondly the economical situation isn't that good. Sales are slow, some companies even disappeared or are hibernating and it's even possible to get some of this years releases from a well know company for bargain prices, just look around. Also, according to Jules (Pioneer) every seven out of ten cars is bought by collectors. These collectors won't buy white kits, or only one.

In another tread NSR stated that the costs of mold making easily exceeds the 50000 euro marker so I really wonder how Ostorero will be able to succeed without losing money. I am not an economical wonder and have no idea about the "selling slotcars" business but I am afraid this will not work out for them.

So perhaps they should rethink their strategy and maybe make some "ready to run" 2009-2010-2011 liveries to ensure a bigger market by attracting the not so handy racers

a standard scaley black stripe is hardly an all or nothing motor, if you look at the pictures provided its a long can motor, gobs of torque and probably 21000rpm so it will fit the majority of classes at club level. john
