Hi!

Today when I was swiming
an idea appear in my mind: why any factory produce a straigth with one meter long?
For long straigths less pieces would be used, saving energy and improving the speed of cars (I think!). The negative side I see is the package and storing this pieces.

Just a thought...

...no, CArrera does not. They had double lenght straights in the Universal program and still offer them in teh Profi-line (1/40).
Longer straights would make sense - minimum double the length of the acual ones!
I'm routing the long straights by myself out of MDF - it's easy and much cheaper than purchsing lot's of standard straights

Will report and make pictures whe I set up the new track together with Swiss...

A double length straight has been proposed several times on different forums and it really IS a good idea. Support for it has always been unanimous, yet not a peep from the manufacturers, which is strange.

I think a full metre length is too much, though. It would be difficult to manufacture accurately and, as has been mentioned, packaging and transport would be quite problematic. I feel there would probably be quite a small demand for that length anyway.

But here is a vote for double length straights -definitely!
